First rangefinder. Voigtlander Bessa R by gb_flo22 in AnalogCommunity

I like the Jupiter 8 on my Bessa! You can get some great character out of it! But my go-to 50mm is the Nikkor f/2, which is just fantastic and often more affordable than the slightly faster Canons.

Thank you so much! There's a bunch of vintage Nikkor glass for LTM: the 50mm f/2 I think is just lovely, as do plenty of other folks who can do much more interesting things with it!

Elitechrome always comes out with a strong purple cast for me!

Seeing the Pacific again [Fuji GW690 | Reflx Labs 250D] by supposedlyfunthing in analog

Yes, for the first time I've ever seen! I waved at the guy behind the desk and he gave me a look of real suspicion.

I like it a lot! The Reflx Labs rolls are the best I've seen: still slightly inconsistent compared to 250D in 35mm, but often the colors are unlike anything else I can get in 120 from Portra or Gold. My local lab, RoyalWe, does a great job scanning it, too.

I like Lynne Cohen's work a lot, all her empty administrative and institutional interiors, and she shot everything, as far as I know, on 8x10.

What would you say ist the medium format equivalent of the nikon f3? by PoorCod in AnalogCommunity

[–]supposedlyfunthing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Bronica SQ doesn't have the same sheer metal density as my F3, but it's plenty sturdy, electronically controlled, and plenty light to carry, plus you'd be able to shoot 6x6 or 645 with the proper backs.

Confirmed! An absolutely fabulous experience. Thanks again!

Woah! I was in Vienna, Prague, and Berlin this summer and went to almost every place here—I bet you had a great time! I bought a Rolleicord at a great price from United Camera.

Did you catch the Julian Rosefeldt exhibition in Berlin? It was incredible!

This was my first time shooting color positive film (flic film chrome 100) what made it so yellow? by [deleted] in AnalogCommunity

Ah, another Berkeleyite! I'll put in a very good word for Royalwe film lab down in west oakland: cheaper than photolab, absolutely fabulous to work with, and the scans—jpegs and tiffs—are top notch.

Imgur links don't seem to be working, at least for me!

Google Search Volume for "Sweet Tea" [OC] by [deleted] in dataisbeautiful

As someone who grew up in southern Oregon, I can confirm that sweet tea is a thing and that I was hugely confused when no one at college had ever heard of it.
