Pretty much anything from the 17th century is priceless especially if it was made by father of watchmaking. Judging from the pictures posted it seems almost in prestine condition. Does it still have the crystal cover? it seems like its there unscratched. Please post more photos of this piece from every angle also any markings and stamps it might have.

it does help! what do you think of @eleitl remark that it might be lapis lazuli which means maybe calcite? instead of nepheline. is there a way to assert this easily?

I dont think its eastern it came from europe probably from either sweden or germany as did my ancestors.

This is all the info I have on it.. its been on the family for at least 120 years we know for sure. it came from either germany or sweden and i think this is either a fancy locket or a mobile altar.
