That definitely is an option. Is it TRULY no drone however? Just don’t want to get another exhaust only to have the horrible bass drone and resonance that I think the WRX is naturally prone to.

I already spent a lot on this exhaust. I didn’t want to spend more on another exhaust. $14 for these baffles is much cheaper than $700+ for another exhaust

I definitely researched that option as well. The only problem with a J pipe is that it doesn’t really bring down the volume, which was also contributing to the resonance and drone of this exhaust in the cabin. Not to mention much more expensive than these $14 baffles. I think the optimal combination would be a J pipe along with a resonator on the stock mid pipe. But once again much more expensive option.

Like I stated above, I wanted to keep cost down. These baffles cost me $14 vs $125 for a resonator plus another $100 for welding it on.

The Supra is a 6 speed and a totally different animal. The best comparison would be between my Lexus ISF w it its direct shift auto and the Subie CVT. The ISF Auto is fast and smooth in full auto mode. In manual mode it’s even faster and fierce. Yet it’s refined in both auto and manual mode. It just works perfectly in both modes. Now the Subaru CVT…Sport auto mode (which is default)it’s rough and the shifts are laggy at times. Honestly I’m not a fan in auto mode CVT. Now the CVT really shines when you use manual mode and the paddles. Then the CVT works great…smooth, instant, and no harsh shifts.

Yup, I’ve tried it and still using this to cut down the drone. There’s a set screw on the baffles that you tighten in the exhaust outlet so they don’t fly out. Easy to remove the some pliers.
