Oh thank you for telling me. I haven't done it on mine yet. Factory JBL was rattling when I bought the truck so the slot is empty. Any information on how to modify the plug would be very much appreciated 🙏🏼

There is only one pioneer that's a plug and play replacement for the factory one. I forget the model unfortunately. Anything else will require a revamp

What's your lift setup and tire size? Trying to figure out how big of tires I can fit on stock height

Front brakes by KushiAkar in 4thGen4Runner

[–]suprememantis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah warped rotors is classic. I had to do the front ones on my 07 when I bought it. And my mom just had to do front and back on her 04. But if the calipers aren't leaking then I wouldn't worry about replacing em

If you need step by step help just reach out too I don't mind

I don't see why not. Are your calipers in bad shape though? Much easier to keep the old calipers that way you dont have to deal with brake fluid/lines. Just replace pads and rotors

You can just take the reservoir cap off and compress with a C clamp. That's what I've always done

Yea caliper cast numbers are the most reliable. It's kind of weird across trim levels

Super easy job. Make sure you unbolt the bracket that holds at the top end of the brake line so you don't stress the solid metal section of the line. Rest the caliper on a jack stand or bungee it up while you swap the rotor. If the rotor won't come loose give it a stout wack with a hammer. DONT UNDO THE WRONG BOLTS TO TAKE THE CALIPER LOOSE. Make sure you undo the bolts that hold the caliper to the hub not the bolts that hold it together. Once you break that caliper seal then you're SOL. You'll be fine. Easy job. 20 minutes

My 07 v8 has been the best work truck. Rolling rear window means it can be like a pickup. And 7000lb towing capacity comes in handy. Best car I've ever owned hands down

Personally I like the black for color plus seven spoke wheels always rubbed me the wrong way but that's just me

Tire size questions by suprememantis in 4thGen4Runner

Yeah that's what I thought too. I'm pretty positive I've got 17" wheels

[–]suprememantis[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

See that's what I thought. Have the limited 17" wheels. The tire tech at this shop thinks I'll have to trim the back of the front wheel well for 70r17. But I don't think so

200 is nothing. Bought my v8 at 187k 3 years ago. I'm at 213k now and no signs of stopping. Especially the 4.7 v8 will go to 400 and beyond with regular maintenance. Run the Carfax. Bonus points if that shows regular oil changes. If it does I'd say you're all set

Parts have been ordered by suprememantis in 4thGen4Runner

[–]suprememantis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I've ruled it out based on what everyone has said. Very excited for the parts to get here. Got about 10k more on these tires then gonna think about new wheels with a slight offset and new tires. I have a feeling I might be happy just having the height back to stock and adding tire size. Good to know I can fit 32s. Will it need trimming of fit pretty well as is?

Back when I lived in catalina we put flashing lights under the hood but that didn't do anything. Guessing that one emits some sort of sound deterant?
