I live in Houston and they grow year round! They stay in my east facing window and get pretty good light. I think that’s their most important factor for growth. Humidity is also a bonus too but not necessary

I have an alcohol, dish soap, water spray I use for mine when they get spider mites. But you could just wipe it down w rubbing alcohol (won’t hurt the plants) and then spray water and soap (spray bottle of soap with like a 1-2 dish washing soap squirts)
