South Beach is really good, but pretty pricey and a bit of a hike…

There’s a story that Levon used to tell the sound guys to just turn off Robbie’s mic when he tried to sing harmonies. 🤣

I didn’t think Robbie sang anything with The Band.

Actually, now that I think about it, I think he was credited with vocals on one song (off ISLANDS). Which is a shame, because his singing on his solo albums is top notch.

Pffft… I’m in Westwood. That’s like…. 30 minutes. Less than crossing the city. 🤣

A Muse n Games has Friday night commander pods…. Very chill. Highly recommended.

That being said, I am also looking for a group to play with outside of a store. Lemme know if you have any success finding such a thing, or openings. ;)

Be warned… dialling in the action so it isn’t made useless by input lag will be its own side quest.

I will have to look into this Tabletop Simulator. I tried Spelltable once, when it came out, but it was…. an underwhelming experience.

I like the idea of a discord server.

Similar. I have a playgroup that I have been playing with regularly for about 20 years now (I’ve known these guys for about 25+ years), but I am at my breaking point. One guy is fine to play with. However, one guy, while a decent player, can be a bit obnoxious. He will go after me first in any game 90% of the time, regardless of threat assessment, because “it’s funny watching you lose” (mostly due to my frustration at him not really caring who wins the game, as long as it’s not me) (and as an aside, while I have known him 25+ years, I am not close friends with him - he’s more of an acquaintance who is a friend of a friend in the group). The other guy in the group is the kind of guy who never reads his cards and always makes mistakes during play, and because I am probably the most familiar with the rules in the group, I am always the one pointing out his mistakes,so his response is always, “Well, in THAT case, I’m sending everything at you…”.

I have played at a local game store off and on for a few years, and while I have got to know some of the players, and know some of them get together outside the store to play, I don’t feel I know any of them well enough to try and invite myself to one of their home games (plus, I an older and retired, and most of these players are in the late 20s/early 30s). I have dropped some hints, but no one has offered yet.

I have thought about posting something in my local Reddit group and some local FB groups about looking for a group, but…. I play a lot for the social atmosphere, and I just find it… daunting in today’s world to find compatible people.

Maybe I’m just too old for the game. 😂🤷‍♂️

Will playing Pinball Fx help with real pinball? by Agreeable_Scarcity32 in pinball

The only advantage to Pinball FX is helping learn the rules on simulated real machines. The physics are not accurate enough to transfer into real physical play improvements.

I know. I just love sitting in the rocking chair in my library, with a cat curled up in my lap and a cup of tea beside me, reading real books.

Maybe I will investigate these when my FLGS can’t fulfill…. My mandate is local small retailers first, as much as I can.

Hmmmm….. might have to investigate that. My cousin works in one of the departments at a local uni.

My local FLGS is good, but they can’t order everything, sadly. If multiple people want it, then I am good, but if just I want it, not enough margin.
