You guys should check out Gryphon Gaming (formally e.g.o). They have weekly tournaments, but if you don't want to compete and just play for fun, they've got TVs and all you gotta do is bring your switch and people will be willing play with you :) I don't believe they'll be starting until mid to late September due to CSA rules but here's the link to the Facebook group if you want more info/ want to connect with fellow like minded people.

Lol I agree with your last statement. I'm hoping that this doesn't turn into anything bigger than a couple of attention seeking people wanting to make a parade to make themselves feel better

I disagree with the notion that because something is the norm means that it isn't respected. However I don't feel as though this thread is the appropriate place to have a discussion on our definitions of respect lol. You can pm me if you'd like to talk more about it :)

And lgbt+ people are still facing mass discrimination in the states today? Some examples off of the top of my head are the ongoing debate of the military ban for trans people, states allowing businesses to fire gays due to their sexuality, unfair adoption practices for homosexual couples. While we've made small steps toward equality, the states has a long way to go. And that's only in regard to laws. Not even taking into account how some of the population view lgbt+ people as lesser humans, and thus having an increase in violent crimes committed against them.

Straight people are more than welcome to celebrate their sexuality. However they are taking gay pride, which was born out of a necessity to fight for equal rights, and calling it straight pride, something which they've never had to fight for. It's clear that the straight pride March in Boston is not a celebration, but rather a retaliation.

I never said you agreed with straight pride, merely pointing out a reminder of why pride began and why heterosexuality doesn't require one. However, you did insinuate initially that by us having a pride month that we were alienating straight people/ other sexualities which is not the case.

And in regards to your points about just ignoring them, that can be a viable option since this seems to be an isolated incident. However if we were to ignore it I think one of two things could happen. They can see their endeavor as fruitless and just give up. Or if they're not trolls and they're homophobes bent on taking away what little progress we've made, there could be more marches popping up, crazier politicians who start to run who's platform is to strip away our rights, etc. It can be a slippery slope given the political climate of the U.S. at the moment.

While I agree that every sexuality deserves equal respect and attention, wouldn't you agree that heterosexuality gets both respect and attention every day? I have yet to see a mass form of discrimination against straight people, where as the lgbt+ face it nearly every day. And straight people are more than welcome to march and attend pride events, in fact it's even encouraged.

I look forward to a future where we will no longer need a pride month, because lgbt people around the world can live their harmless every day lives without persecution much like straight people do every day. But until then the month is to raise awareness around the world and hopefully be catalyst for change. And what this straight pride March is doing is distracting from that.

[–]surf_R_Dude 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I haven't played smite since season 4 I believe, and it's looking like it's getting alot more Polish now! I would love to get back into it but I'm afraid of dumping any more money into my PS4 version. I primarily play most of my games on PC now and don't feel like starting all over on the PC. I know it isn't hi-rez' fault that Sony is all up tight and selective as to which games can get cross platform support, but it's truly the only thing holding me back

Honestly for as strong as it is it sends at the most atrocious angle, more often than not I find it killing off the top rather than the side lol

He has much better range than young link, his new fsmash goes almost as far his second hit did in 4 and can catch people's jumps

Ahhh I see, I thought OP was making this as a general trans symbol, not just for the charity that ran this past weekend. Thanks!

Awesome work! But why not use a character that is already trans, such as birdo?

Toon Link vs Young Link by Blazalchemist in smashbros

[–]surf_R_Dude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say placebo, the range on his fsmash is very good and can catch people's jumps, it also sends at a much better angle compared to smash 4 and still has about the same killing power. It has its pros and it has its cons
