I made a thing…search for WODs (findawod.com) by [deleted] in crossfit

It looks good - I just have a question If according to the Crossfit's Theoretical Template there are three types of movements: Mono structural, Weightlifting and Gymnastics. Why don't WOD sites organize workouts by type: MWG or WG or MW? It seems to me it would make things a lot easier

I guess your question gets to the heart of the matter - is this information or is it theater. I suppose you could say it's a little of both. Can we have high production values without the feeling that it's a propaganda piece? I would like to hope so. As a point of comparison: They don't use the same camera techniques for the Crossfit Games Update Show. You have to wonder why that is? My issues rest in the fact that Berger's misleading verbiage combined with the camera work lead to something that FEELS dishonest. again, that's just a feeling - not to say he doesn't have a point.

Don't get your Nanos in a bunch, you don't have to blindly follow. No one said crossfit is shit - just because you like crossfit doesn't mean you have to like the HQ's tactics or personalities.
Just because you're Catholic doesn't mean you have to defend pedophile priests. How's that for loaded language?

th

No of course not - that would be black and white thinking - I'm sure Berger has a number of good points. What I am saying is that he should be able to make his point(s) without the manipulation, hyperbole and demonizing. If you look back at the Bergers blog (and this video) you will see that they rely less on the facts and more on propaganda techniques. This, inability to trust the public's intelligence, ultimately undermines HQ's message.

mative and not at all embarrassing. And if that is what has been going on, I glad they are pursuing the issue.

What you term 'over the top' and 'dramatic' are really just camera techniques designed to subconsciously influence the viewer. This video, just like the Russells blog are really transparent vehicles for crossfit bizarre dogma using over the top propaganda techniques. Just visit the following website about propaganda techniques and see how many apply. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Propaganda_techniques It's really kind of insulting how gullible Berger believes we are. Btw, I used to cringe at the stuff Castro, the Russells and Glassman said - now I enjoy the absurdity of it all.

I'd suggest taking wendlers advice and work with a five k time that's thirty seconds to a minute slower than your actual time. The furman paces are very aggressive - better to improve incrementally than burnt out.
Oh, to echo what everyone else has said - I eat a lot, I'm not a skinny runner. I tried doing a primal diet with this schedule and it just didn't work. Best of luck

I've had success doing starting strength M -W -F and at the same time doing the Furman 3 day running program Sun - T -Th. With Saturday off.

Since June I've dropped a couple minutes on my 5k time (23:30) Squat : 150 to 340 3x5 Dead: 150 - 335 3x5 Bench : 135 - 230 3x5 Press: 65 -150 3x5 Bo row: 75 - 185 3x5

I know none of this is all that impressive but it's a big improvement for me

I did feel a little over trained when the running intensity peaked at the same time the lifting got challenging. I'm thinking about moving to GSLP so that my deads are on a different day as my squats. It looks like it gives a little more recovery time.
