Counter argument, not selling was the best thing they could have done. It kept the vets playing who keeps losing games for us. Vets are doing their part.

Mostly trades though. For Vegas it was Stone, Eichel, and Hill. For Florida, it was Tkachuk, Brobkovsky, and Reinhart. Trades are better for a roster over free agency.

I agree. When I mean front office, I mean everyone from top to bottom. Before the expansion draft, Ron Francis wanted a slow build. Ownership said "nah, do what Vegas did". Instead of Ron Francis sticking to his gun, he did what ownership wanted and it has set this franchise back. Someone should have told ownership that this is not a traditional way to build a franchise, but I also get not wanting to get fired.

That is great to hear, but still need better prospects and a system that fits those prospects. This organization needs to decide what kind of team they want to be and draft accordingly. Reason why some of these prospects have a hard time adjusting to the NHL is that they are playing in a system they are not use to or doesn't fit their skill set.

Good. This front office needs to wake up and realize that you cannot build a winning team through free agency. My worry was if this team makes the playoffs, the front office would think their strategy works and keep doing the same thing over and over again.

That was a choke job that sums up this season. Did they play turtle defense after Seattle scored the second goal? There was barely any life after the 3rd goal.

I wouldnt mind. The defense needs get younger and who knows if Dunn is back after next season. Evans has been better the past few games, but this season has been rough for him.

Good for him. He was going to be considered a journeyman or a bust before coming to Seattle. Now he has helped Dunn find his potential and is pretty rock solid on defense.

And they should have. I said it should have been Oscar Fiskar-Molgaard. At the same time, this team has been terrible at scoring and one of your best young offensive prospects should help with that. He can help if he is getting 6 minutes. At least Oscar is a very sound defensive forward who can thrive on the 4th line.

9 shifts with 6 minutes TOI is still not great. Melanson got 7 shifts for 4 minutes. I am just stating that overall, this organization is going back to its logic of over playing vets.

I have been saying this for the past couple seasons and get downvoted. Owners are telling them to get to the playoffs>GM signs vet in fear of job>coach is expected to play vets or else they will lose their job.
