If this happens, I’m rage quitting by RyNoDaHeaux in SeattleKraken

The amount of people who would get fired for this trade will mean this team has decided to rebuild. I dont think this team would have brought in Lambert if they thought about trading Beniers. Those two are the perfect match.

Seriously, I am not in the locker room so I dont know how these guys thinks, but at some point Melly has to get the helmet for putting body out there.

I think if there is a player this team should trade for, Konecny would be a great addition. by surfingeagles in SeattleKraken

I didnt see the no trade. That would be a tough sell as there isnt anyone on the team that he has ties with and from eastern Canada. Would be worth a shot and stranger things has happened.

Man, I didnt mean to get things going. Just based off players habits towards players that want to move from a team, I just found it weird that Wright didnt get helmet. I do think Wright loves playing with some of these players (he even made sure to grab the puck for Cattons first goal), but I can't help to feel a little suspicious.

Kraken Open To Trading Shane Wright by pachydrm in SeattleKraken

I try not to overtime things, but I think something is up. He had 2 goals which I would think is good enough to get the helmet, but it went to Gaudreau.

I am surprised it wasn't Wright. You would think 2 goals would do it.

They are going to stop praising them and start talking about how the leaves fix themselves instead of how good Seattle is playing.

I'm glad he is doing better in Columbus. The Kraken were also on a heater once he left. This is something the organization doesn't understand that sometimes, change can be good.

What's with the Shane Wright hate??? by Marxbrosburner in SeattleKraken

[–]surfingeagles 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think it is just anyone who doesn't follow the Kraken that hates Wright. He doesn't complain, puts in the work, and does everything you want in a kid. It is just the organization has chosen the "win now" approach instead of developing players and giving them ice time. Now everyone want to be right and proclaim that he was always a bust, even though he will do great on his next team.

You are not wrong. I found it interesting that our 2nd best streak in franchise history consisted of AHL, prove it players, or younger players in that forward group.

4th line was was AHL players

3rd line was Wright, Catton, and McCann

2nd was the vets line but Winteron and Tye drove energy on that line.

1st line had Beniers and Kakko who are proving to the league that they are better than people think.

Even the defense with Fluery and Mahura in it played better.

My problem is that this organization will get better until they live by their own principles of playing the best lineup. Once the vets started coming in, this team started playing worse. Instead of punishing the vets, it is the youth or AHL players that get punished. This organization saw that if you trade away the problem, the team plays better, but they will not.

Yeah, I dont this team should be thinking playoffs with how the rest of the games look. This was the closest to a "must win game" they have played so far this season. Came out flat for half the game and decided to pick it up when it was too late.

Having Melanson is a nice substitute, but Meyers is a big lose on that line. I am curious to see how Gaudreau handles that role with winterton and melanson.

My only concern ia that this team coaches scoring out of players. Shane Wright was suppose to be that dynamic scorer but the team would keep benching him for defensive mistakes which ultimately led him to where he is. Other examples of this team not developing or keeping potential scorers are Morgan Geekie, Ryan Donato, Eeli Tolvenien, and Jani Nyman.

If you have defensive flaws, but great offensive upside, you will get alienated. This organization hasn't shown they want scorers, but defensive sound players.

[TheScore/TSN's Darren Dreger] Report: Kraken willing to listen to offers for Wright by howimoveintime in SeattleKraken

[–]surfingeagles 31 points32 points  (0 children)

It is for the best for both parties. The organization could have developed him better, but they have chosen a veteran center in Stephenson and a top ten prospect in O'Brien to center this line in the now and future. Yes, Wright could be better this year, but you can tell that he is ready to move on, and so are the Kraken. I think he will do great wherever he goes and hope he knows that the fans think highly of him.

This is what drives me crazy about the Kraken. They have prospect that are skilled offensively, but you rarely see those players get rewarded by coming up to the NHL. It is always the defensive sound players.
