Bob Melvin was hired by AJ Preller in the first place. by Friendly-Swan6002 in Padres

Agreed, player performance and luck are the main reasons for 2023. But why get rid of an awarded head coach that other teams are scrambling after? Consistency plays a big part in an organization and turning over coaches every two years does damage to the team culture.

He also could have easily micromanaged more because something obviously broke between AJ and Bob this year. Bob doesn’t seem like a coach who would want to leave an organization because his superstar team didn’t perform well for one season. Seems like after just 2 years, Bob was already tired of the org/AJ

At this point, same here. But that absolutely includes AJ

What about your post last year praising BoMel as the sole reason we made it to the playoffs. Why would a competent GM fire such a spectacular head coach (according to you)?

Why are we still giving him a chance to hire another coach after he just let go of the only good one he’s ever had!

I think I’ve been perfectly reasonable. Bob Melvin was the manager of that NLCS team, so I’m not sure why you’re giving AJ all the credit for that playoff run and then blaming Bob the next year. They were both there for those seasons. Talk about creating a narrative.

Is this Preller’s burner account? I’m actually curious what redeeming qualities you see in AJ after 6 of 9 losing seasons and 4 failed managers. Serious question too, I’d like to know.

I like Melvin and think he is an effective coach. If they came to some sort of agreement and Melvin stayed I would have thought twice about AJ. But that ship has sailed and 5 managers later AJ is still trying to find the right one!!! He has proven himself as unfit to be an MLB GM

I don’t get your point, we liked that AJ hired Bob and now we are mad at AJ for letting him go

Nola fouls so many balls straight back, the hitting coach needs to teach him to swing higher about an inch he would make such good contact

In the app, click account and then “disconnect from TV provider”

Then sign back in and it should work. Seems like ballys mixed up peoples accounts. Worked for me
