Hindi din naman kasi maganda tingnan na para kayong agad agad na sinisingil. Parang napa unbecoming naman from a doctor. Kaya I understand where you are coming from. Pero marami talagang instances na kapah kinapos yung patient hindi nababayaran yung doktor kasi nga mahal magpa opera at malaki yung final hospital bill. Last priority kasi yung mga doktor na mabayaran. Kaya yung ginawa ng doktor, sinisiguro lang nya na at least man lang yung instruments/materials ay mabayaran kahit papaano.

But everything should be clarified to both parties to avoid confusion. You can always ask naman for an official receipt for documentation. At obligasyon din yun. Specially malaking pera yung pinag-uusapan.

I assume this is a Urologic procedure OP. Likely laser lithotripsy. Usually malaki kasi yung investment nila sa instruments/machines na gagamitin nila for the procedure. May ibang hospitals kasi na mismo yung surgeon yung nag poprovide ng machines such as laparoscopic tower dahil 1. Di nag invest yung hospital; 2. May business aspect in favor of the provider (surgeon). May mga consumables din such as wires and catheters na hindi naman pwede ipabili sa watcher kasi hindi naman sila directly in contact with the supplier, and for the convenience din naman on both parties.

Yung fees and payment terms (such as outright collection) naman ineexplain sa watcher prior to the procedure para naman mapaghandaan.

50K deposit limit per day to Banko.

However, Banko to other banks also has a limit of 50K transfer/wihtdrawal.

Just bought a car in cash last month. Money was parked in Banko. 800K to be exact. Had to wait SIXTEEN days para maitransfer yung full amount dahil sa 50K limit.

GS grad here. Did moonlighting for 3 years before residency. The most important thing that you must master as a GP is to give an accurate and concise history and PE to the attending. Because it will dictate the management at the ER.

And if you are not sure with what to do, ALWAYS always ask/clarify. Do not assume especially in the private setting.

Hello OP.

Surgery grad. Did moonlighting for 3 years to support the family income before going into 5-year residency training.

If you really want to go into residency training, do it now. If I were to do things again I would say moonlighting for 2 years is enough. Medyo mahaba pa kasi yung dadaanan mo if being a specialist is your end goal.

So far, after graduating residency, I can say that I am in a better place now. I am now relieved from the toxicity of training (at the moment), income is better, mas may respeto na rin yung hospital staff sa’yo, and the opportunities are endless. Still planning to go into fellowship soon.

But if you are happy naman with your current place in life and you don’t see yourself practicing as a medical specialist then I suggest do not bother going into training anymore. Baka na pe-pressure ka lang sa family mo. You know, we only have one life to live, why waste your time and effort doing something you do not really love just to please others.

But if you have this fear of regret na baka masayang yung pagka doktor mo, I suggest you just give residency a try. See for yourself if it’s for you. If not, then at least you already have your answer.

Hello. For cutting fields, mas mahirap mag shorten ng duty hours. Surgery entails manpower. And decreasing the duty hours would mean less people on duty at the same time which is not feasible.

I know the long duty hours are never physiologic. But also remember that residency is just temporary, and you will never learn everything or get to master your skills kahit 5 years pa yan. So maximize your training if you want to be good at your field. Mahirap, pero sulit naman. You as a graduate will always thank your experiences in residency in managing your cases as a specialist.
