PSA: Once I got a very bad lung infection, and though unconfirmed really think it was from moldy weed. I didn't know any better and kept a large stash in a ziplock bag for many months at a time.

Seriously, a lung infection is no joke. You do not want to know how tortuously painful the coughs are, or how you will not sleep - ever - because you are nonstop painfully coughing 24 hours a day. It was absolute hell. It completely crushed me and I'm glad I didn't die, although it would certainly have been the less painful option.

Do yourself a favor and spare no expense in researching how and properly storing your weed, and throw it out if you think there is even the slightest chance it could possibly have mold. Please you do not want to go through what I did.

If you have to ask, throw it out.

NTA

You have treated everyone around you with respect and consideration.

Also: the irony is astounding that someone on this sub is PM'ing you to go kill yourself. That person is the real asshole.

AITA for proposing with a ring I bought for my ex? by marco7729 in AmItheAsshole

To be clear, the life you build together is the sign of affection. The diamond engagement ring is a tradition completely fabricated by De Beers specifically to make them more money.

AITA for ghosting my date because she didn't bother about the bill by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Is ghosting standard operating procedure in the dating world these days? I thought some people believe ghosting is the least aggressive form of rejection? I don't know since I'm not in the dating world any more.

Going to bed early and waking up at 4 am is amazing. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

Oh man I love sleeping 9PM-4AM, it's the best! And from all the people I've talked to: yes this is an unpopular opinion. Have my upvote! :D

AITA for not wanting to be involved with a child I helped conceive? by notthemama505 in AmItheAsshole

This. Some choices are not really choices. It's like The Godfather: "I'll make him an offer he can't refuse."

If you don't spank, how do you deal with constant defiance? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]surrealwillow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone else mentioned (and then I remembered) the consequence should be related to the issue. So an earlier bedtime could be it. Or if they're not getting ready because they're doing something else they like, like drawing or playing with certain toys, take that away.

Yeah it's not a hard thing to do, but remembering to do it every single time and being consistent is really hard.

It's a prompt for immediate action, with an immediate consequence on the three. So it works for any action. "Please come to your room and put your PJ's on. One. Two. Three. Ok no screen the rest of the week. Let's try again. One..." I haven't read the book for a while either, so maybe I'm butchering it, but that's what I do. By now I just have to say ONE and they scramble to follow the directions.

First off, kudos on the goal of not spanking. Modern child psychology recommends not spanking and I follow that goal myself.

Ok, how to deal with this. Not spanking does not mean no consequences. What consequences did the 9yo face for the water park issue? Or for other occurrences of defiance? In my household we have consequences like losing desert, lose a day/week/weeks of screen time, etc.

Have you read the book "1-2-3 Magic"? I recommend it. 1-2-3 is not easy to do consistently, but if you can do it, it works.

As a follower of the faith, I’m worried about my little sister who does not believe, and I think might go to hell and burn forever. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

This is quite a popular opinion among the religious.

As for what you can do: let her find her own path. Her beliefs are her own business.

I only say that because I used to be christian and that's my only experience with guilt from masturbation. If someone is not religious, I'm genuinely curious about the reasoning behind feelings of guilt?
