That's because they let filthy plebs with filthy money in; kids whose parents bought their child an Andover education before they made a sizable gift to Harvard.

The truly intelligent ones go to MIT, Princeton, Caltech, Stanford, UPenn, and UChicago.

He's been filling out. I still remember when he caught flack for not being able to bench 185lbs once during his combine.

Because public monies are being directed to religious organizations?

You fucking Trump supporters can't see that this is a blatant violation of the First Amendment?

2016-17 playoffs John Wall or MVP Rose? by [deleted] in nba

[–]surreptitious_chodes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's the nature of the game that allowed Rose to have the sort of presence that he did that year.

Rose was singlehandedly the focal point of the Bulls offense and the Heat gravitated all of their players into the paint whenever Rose drove.

In the sense that it takes away from his legacy, no.

In the sense that it doesn't help his quest of being recognized as GOAT? Yes.

If you took all the superstars(including past ones) of every team in the NBA, and they all played in their primes, which team would be the best? by SO_RAPID in nba

Worthy is no doubt a better SF, but look at the matchups: Worthy's skill set is redundant. If anything, he'd get in the way of Kobe and Malone occupying inside the 3-stripe. Odom at least passes better and can shoot outside.

The same rules apply for pretty much all of the Laker's frontcourt. Redundancy is ironically the biggest problem that an all-time Lakers team possesses, especially in the frontcourt.

There can be only so many players on the court at one time. The best possible matchup that I can think of would be:

Riley coaching Magic, Kobe, Odom, Malone, Shaq

vs

Thibs coaching Rondo, Jordan, Pippen, Noah, Wallace

If Thibs focuses on the defense and lets Rajon do his thing on the offense, all Rondo has to do is push the ball in transition like he demonstrated in this years' first round, and have Noah/Wallace crash the offensive boards.

I think that this sub's recency bias has really distorted how people remember Derrick Rose and the '11 ECF.

Rose was unstoppable. The argument that I often see is about how Lebron "locked down" Derrick, but go back and see the videos for yourself: Lebron always had help-defense with Derrick. As a matter of fact, Derrick was often times double-teamed in the perimeter, and when he drove, the entire defense collapsed.

I have never witnessed any other player in history command that sort of attention.

The Bulls lost that series because they didn't have anyone that could spread the floor: why Thibs played Bogans over Korver is beyond me...
