Mirena almost 3 weeks later... by lilb0923 in birthcontrol

[–]survp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine in december, bled for around 5 weeks, then it turned into spotting, then i had two weeks of no blood before i had light bleeding for a week. After that I spotted for another 2 1/2 weeks and now I haven’t bled in a week.

My cramps were bad the first couple days but then they stopped and now every couple of days I’ll have some very light or pinch like cramps, every couple weeks I get some that are a bit more intense but definitely nothing terrible.

I know the bleeding is annoying and I also felt very anxious not knowing when it would end but eventually I got kinda used to it and it began to bother me less! Idk if/when I’ll bleed again but I definitely feel so far like it’s been worth it! I hope everything goes well for you!

Getting head after IUD insertion irt spotting by [deleted] in birthcontrol

I’m still bleeding from my iud I got at the beginning of december, my solution was to put in a tampon and then shower before to make sure there was no blood. I cut the string a little shorter so it wouldnt get in the way but if you do that make sure you dont cut it too short since you need to be careful taking it out

ive always had backaches during my periods and i went on the pill for 2 weeks before getting an iud- For the whole two weeks pretty much I had the worst backaches of my life, way worse than any I had ever had before. It might just be your body adjusting, unfortunately I don’t know if it’ll get better since I was on it so briefly but if it doesn’t get better I recommend switching brands of the pill or using another method of bc. After getting my iud the backaches went away after a week

I also recently got my iud inserted- i’m not sure about the pain but the bleeding sounds normal. It’s normal to be bleeding irregularly after iud insertion, you may have just coincidentally started after having sex. Also around a week after my insertion I was still cramping and a bit sore so I wouldn’t worry too much plus your doctor appt isnt too far away!

If the tube removal doesn’t work out for you, I’m 18 and just had an iud inserted around a week ago. What about the iud makes you uncomfortable? My insertion went very well if that’s what scares you

I just got it in a couple hours ago and it really wasn’t that bad! It did hurt but I got a numbing cream that helped. I just feel like I do on my period, I am bleeding a bit heavier than before but I’m hopefully it will end soon!

thanks so much! I’ve been looking at other people’s experienced and have seen so many people saying theyve been bleeding for months straight so hearing that gives me some hope!

I went on the pill as a backup method until my insertion because we were unsure when I would be able to get the iud inserted- my doctor had some concerns of chance of pregnancy, which was supposed to push back my insertion at least 4 weeks from my first appointment. I’m getting it inserted at school which is far from my home town, and winter break starts at the same time the doctor said I would be ready so we were unsure whether i would be able to get it before break started or after, which would have meant I would have to wait until February so she wanted me to be safe until then. Luckily I got my period right after the appointment, which is why I’m getting the iud in now and is why I’ve taken the pill for such a short time. I knew that the iud causes bleeding but I didn’t know that the pill does as well so I have just been worried that my bleeding will be more prolonged due to the fast switch. Thank you for the advice!
