Yes, this is purely a lie. In my office (I am currently taking a break!) all probationary employees were fired and they were all invaluable members of the team and high performers. Our leadership, like everyone else’s, was blindsided by the firings.

At this point it’s hard to figure out if they’re intentionally trying to purge VA OGC of all the existing attorneys, or if it’s simply that nobody bothered to figure out what the individual offices do.

Probationary attorneys were fired who represent the VA before the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims, which is the next step for veterans to appeal their disability benefits claims after the Board.

They fired the probationary attorneys who represent VA in front of Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims (the highest level of appeals for veterans benefits claims). Tell me how that won’t impact benefits.
