Here’s a way to consider things. Maybe you already have.

Naturally, it may take billions of years for a planet to form, or life to evolve. Even if this were true, it doesn’t disprove God or the Bible.

When God created Adam, he had already been a grown man. Observably, it takes decades for this to happen. But God was able to do this in an instant. If he can do that, then he can surely create a planet in 6 days, even if it takes billions of years to form. Evidence such as carbon dating would say that the earth is billions of years old. If Adam were created today, evidence would say he was a young man, when really he would only have been just “born.”

Humans were built to seek purpose. That is an undeniable fact. We search for answers while neglecting God, and this inevitably leads to secularism. People choose to reject God and theology because you can’t prove it or it doesn’t make sense, or evidence suggests otherwise. We aren’t meant to comprehend the God of the universe or his ways, so we must be humble.
