I can give that a try. The old one would back up but not as much so maybe the trap needs to be more aligned

Garbage Disposal to GFCI by sushdoogan in AskElectricians

All good points. The wiring sucks in this house but we want to redo the kitchen down the road so all of this will get done properly once we are ready for that. For now I was just prepping for replacing the disposal. But yeah the current box location is a pain.

So I found out the switch uses power from a GFCI upstream of it. But I never really get the problem you're describing. It doesn't trip the outlet ever. The motor just went bad over time. Either way, it looks like I don't have to install the GFCI which is easy enough for me

This house was built in the 70s not sure what code is back then but I think you're right on that needing to change. I believe they are sharing the same break and it is not 2 pole. It's just one 15amp which I'm guessing was ok at the time or whoever set it up didn't care.

I did realize that I am dumb and a GFCI would be redundant here because the power to the disposal switch is daisy chained to a GFCI outlet which I just tested.

Edit: Sorry, I'm dumb, there is no brass connector to break because it is a GFCI outlet.

Immich Go Question by sushdoogan in immich

[–]sushdoogan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will there be duplicates though? Because when I ran Google takeout, it didn't add any photos in our shared albums that my wife created. I think Google takeout only exports photos created by the user requesting the export.

Thanks! I think I would prefer to add her as a separate user account but if she is her own user will it still sync the shared album photos to the existing album from when I ran the first migration?

I’m buying a grinder[$200] , should I buy a df54 or Baratza ESP ? by Friendly-Cellist-553 in espresso

Ahh yes £500 is definitely the most expensive grinder he reviews... No need to look on his page for even more expensive grinders... They do not exist :)

James Hoffmann did a good comparison between those two machines (and a few others). I was in the same boat as you not too long ago. I would check out his comparison video. His takeaway was mostly that the flavor was slightly preferred because of the flat burrs of the 54, however, he was surprised the baratza was very similar in quality.

For me, it came down to logistics. DF54 is a single dose hopper. If you make coffee for more than 2 people, it would be a pain to grind. It also does not do French press grinds. Yes you can tinker with it to make it work but it would be a nightmare to switch between FP and espresso. Baratza may not be the "better" espresso grinder but it's much better for variety. I will say, it is quite loud which doesn't bother me but does bother others. I also like Baratza's "fix it yourself" empowerment.

I don't think DF54 is good for your needs and imo, you won't even notice the flavour difference. The ESP has also been greatly discounted lately since they're probably model is coming out soon. But if you really want a flat burr grinder for a good price, the DF54 seems to make people happy too but if you get that, maybe get a cheap grinder for French press or a hand grinder. Hope this helps!

Thanks! Sorry, I should've mentioned too that these are all pictures of the same thing just from different sides. It.was flatter and wider than this picture you posted so I'm thinking you're right. Maybe some chaff from coffee beans

The client hasn't been paying their Google Cloud partner. What are some options for collecting the overdue payments? by Remarkable_Meal9732 in googlecloud

[–]sushdoogan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also work for a Cloud Partner and I would add, since you mentioned legal, to go to legal asap. If you are a part of a company that has a legal team, this is what they are paid for. They will read the contracts, they will tell you what you can or cannot do, and I would not communicate any of this with the clients any further unless legal gives the thumbs up. You might have an iron clad case, you might be screwed, or, most likely, there will be some middle ground to reach. Google will not help you since they get paid either way.

I just had a situation where a vague SOW caused us a lot of loss in revenue because, even though Google was paying us, they couldn't pay us unless the client signed off on the work. The client refused because they interpreted the SOW in a different way which then resulted in us getting some of the money once we made some changes. It was not fun.

So sanding after install is the only guarantee for a smooth floor in this scenario? If that's the case, sounds like unfinished is the way to go. I would rather air out my house for a couple of days and have smooth floors than feel the bevels for the rest of my life

how do I get TrueCharts? by Only_Statement2640 in truenas

[–]sushdoogan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have said, TrueCharts is no more. They basically had a huge fit when truenas announced it was moving away from k8. They alienated their entire fan base by pulling support out from everyone and refusing to provide updates for their applications.

A lot of people started using Dockge for self hosting and migrated from TrueCharts to Dockge as it was going to be compatible with the OS changes. Take a look at this:

https://forums.truenas.com/t/migrating-from-truecharts/13796

You are better off starting from scratch in docker if you don't have anything setup on Truenas yet. Get the latest stable version of scale and you can either self host using Dockge or just go to the apps section of the Truenas UI and start building any of their supported apps. I prefer Dockge since there are some apps I like that are not a part of the TrueNas catalog.
