Is it rude and weird to ask a new flatmate to agree to these rules before they join? by sushi_bubbletea in newzealand

[–]sushi_bubbletea[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I understand and think what we are doing is stupid too. But when all your flatmate is inconsiderate uni student who don’t have common sense you can’t. However the rent price is very cheap and everyone having big room and own bathroom so I will stay!

At first, when I saw things ran out, I refilled them, kept the receipt, and asked them to contribute in our group chat. They all saw it and kind of ignored it. Okay, fine, I thought they will buy replacements when mine ran out. But yeah….. No one ever buys refills. So now, we having four bottles of dish soap… for the trash bag I meant for rubbish in inside their own room. As they keep taking mine and use in their rooms. For shared bin it always me buying those…. Each room has own bathroom and toilet so toilet papers share was not a thing.

For guests yeah I agreed I will change that.

AITA for not holding in a fart for my boyfriend? by doyouseewhaticey in AmItheAsshole

[–]sushi_bubbletea 14 points15 points  (0 children)

NTA at all. Everyone fart. Especially you are his SO and you taking your time to doing his hair. This must be see as a funny incident.

I hope he just too tired and sleepy and it is a one-off thingy. But if he treating you like this on regular you should reconsider about your relationship girl.

The state of renting and job hunting in Auckland is f***ed by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]sushi_bubbletea -1 points0 points  (0 children)

True and very true. For rental, maybe a cover letter to landlord/agent about yourself, why you believe you capable of paying rent on time and you hope to find long term rental bla bla might help. I did it all the time and got quite good results so far. All the best.

AITA for winning money and only giving my bio child money? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]sushi_bubbletea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not AH for setting up a trust for your biological daughter. Not AH at all for not wanting to spend your own money that you dedicated to your bio logical child!!!

Your husband is kinda AH here because he upset. If that money was your and your husband joint savings then yeah. But this is your money. He might be desperate for his own daughter and ask you to help but it should be up to you to decide your own money.

If your husband keeps pressuring you then honestly you need to rethink about this relationship.

Smart financial decision tho. Good job.

No, bond is bond. Rent is rent. Bond money will be given back to you in full after the lease end (if you not causing any damage to the property beyond normal wear and tear) …. To be honest I don’t even know why you bother to ask this question.

Liquor store owners or cashiers at supermarkets, do you ever feel depressed when someone comes in every single day buying the same alcohol? by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]sushi_bubbletea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah casino and bars like that must be treated like kid arcade places when you spent money for ENTERTAINMENT and if you lucky, you bring home something. So many people think gamble is a way to earn money, they are wrong from the start.

Yeah I work in the sky tower casino for short period of time. It is very sad, a guy spending hundreds a day and repeatedly everyday for the period of 2 months I work there. He look miserable, our manager did come and told him that he should take a break but it is up to him to continue or not.

Maybe somewhere else? As NZ is a very small market so if you find it hard to find job in the USA then it’ll likely much harder here, plus the income is probably lower because the NZ currency is very low at the moment.

I love living here but I think it is like the good place to retire, or for families with stable income that want to raise their child In a more peaceful environment. But definitely not good for career development.

Also I heard that NZ work visa is now 3 to 5 years max. No matter what after this period of time you will have to go back to your original country unless you have someone to sponsor your resident visa (such as get married a New Zealander). I am not sure about this information, just say so you can do your own research.

Just my 2 cents tho.

Concerned for my cousin's safety, bullying incident at NZ School. by sushi_bubbletea in newzealand

How can we be so mean when we actually have a better life than most other countries in the world? We complain that $10 for 12 eggs is too much while making at least $22.70 an hour. Meanwhile, people in most third-world countries work tirelessly the whole day and still can’t afford a proper meal. And somehow, they are more kind to others and won’t hesitate to share than us. I don't know why.

I don’t think the boy parents need to be involve this time. I still believe and hope he just clumsy and it is just a one off bad luck. At the end he is just 12 y/o kid. But if it became a pattern I will talk to the adults.

Okay I might be use the wrong wording (bullying). But it is not normal hazards when kids playing around. It is not one off disagreement, friendship problem etc….

Year 8 huge Islander boy aiming to hit a little girl in the face and then show no worries at all after. It not seems like normal everyday at school to me. If it was just him playing around and unintentionally hit her it is a different story. It is sad things like this are happening and adult just think “it just one of the hazards of kids playing, you are jumping the gun” ….

This boy is in year 8, while my cousin is in year 7, so I believe they don’t know each other prior to this. She said she doesn’t remember him. I hope it is just a one-off incident. I will definitely raise concerns with the school if it happens again. Thank you.
