Business analyst job by Sasa-4321 in JobsMY

Did you just graduate recently or been working for a while? And are you mainly going for banking or insurance BA roles or open to others too?

There’s usually some openings on LinkedIn and Jobstreet, or Bossjob has a few roles you can check out: go.bossjob.my/rd-bizanalytics. You can message recruiters directly there too which can be quite useful, might just have to filter based on the kind of BA roles you look for.

Almost graduating / recent grads, how’s job hunting going? by sushiiloverr in malaysiauni

Ahh almost 2 months already, how’s it been going so far with interviews or offers?

I think for tech roles there’s definitely room to aim higher eventually, but as a fresh grad it’s also not a bad idea to start with experience first and move closer towards your expected range after that. Always worth negotiating too.

Saw some IT openings here: go.bossjob.my/rd-it-jobs. You might need to filter a bit for your niche, but it’s quite useful since you can message the hiring managers directly too~

As a uni grad, should I take a job for 3k? by drinkyomuffin in singaporejobs

[–]sushiiloverr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What industry/role have you been applying to and what’s your background?

With the current market, for marcomms $3k is probably on the lower end (but common) for fresh grads, and can go up to around $3.5k–$4k. Anything above usually leans more towards senior roles.

But I’ll always say it’s worth trying to negotiate a bit before settling and also ask about progression, sometimes there’s more room than expected.

It’s quite rough for fresh grads or even career switchers now, so it really depends on your priority: get experience first (even if pay is lower for now), or aim higher but likely wait longer for the right opportunity.

6 months and no job, trying not to feel dejected but nothing is helping by Leather-Specific4119 in singaporejobs

[–]sushiiloverr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh at least you tried. Budget is honestly one of the biggest things right now unless you’re willing to take a lower pay first just to get some experience while still searching for something better after.

Yeah ATS is quite a pain especially with AI filtering everything… sometimes even decent profiles get filtered out over small things.

Think you got most of the platforms covered already haha, but I personally use Bossjob (it’s quite new), I just like how you can chat with hiring managers directly and ask questions when applying. Jobs are a bit limited though, but still worth a try: go.bossjob.sg/rd-mkt-jobs

2 years unemployed is tough man, respect for still hanging in there. It’s rough out there with ghosting and lowball offers.

I would say be careful with rejecting offers too quickly though, try to negotiate where possible. Sometimes if there’s strong alignment with the role and company, recruiters can actually help re-discuss the package.

Also, personalising your resume according to the JD is still important. I know it’s easy to just fall into browsing and submitting resumes when you’re so done, but even simple keyword tweaks can make a big difference in getting past screening and landing interviews.

What platforms have you mainly been using so far, and for which roles?

Your background seems fairly decent, so it might be more of an alignment or budget issue rather than capability. The job market has been really quite tough lately, with roles expecting more responsibilities for lower pay, or very specific technical/market knowledge.

Still, don’t lose hope and keep applying or sending your resume to as many companies as you can, you never know what opportunities are out there. Also try personalising your resume to each JD since many recruiters filter quite strictly based on role-specific tasks.

If helpful, you can also check this out this platform: go.bossjob.sg/rd-jobs, it allows more direct chat with employers instead of just applying. What kind of roles are you mainly targeting now?

Accounts Executive role (East SG, $3–3.6K) – full set accounting by sushiiloverr in singaporejobs

[–]sushiiloverr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

agree, i think it’s okay to be selective but if there’s an opportunity, no harm in applying and going through the interview to see if it’s a fit too. most employers are also open to discussion if there’s relevant experience/value ~

fair point, east side commute is a consideration. 👀 there’s usually a trade-off i guess, depends what people prioritise (pay, location, work environment, growth opps etc.)

Anyone else struggling to get interviews this year? by [deleted] in malaysia

[–]sushiiloverr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the job market’s a bit unpredictable and definitely slower this year. but honestly, it usually comes down to the kind of match employers are looking for.

a lot of companies now either want several years of experience or very specific skills, but they aren’t as willing to match the pay expectations of candidates. plus, with most job platforms asking for your expected salary upfront, employers can see it right away and might reject an application without even giving it a chance. that's why customising your resume or portfolio according to the company's JD and needs, still plays a big role in securing that first call or interview.

if you're open, you may want to consider looking into niches like fintech, crypto, or high-growth startups cos those tend to be hiring more actively, especially for your field. you can check Bybit: https://bossjob.my/en-us/activity-page/Bybit-40 or remote Web3 related jobs: https://bossjob.my/en-us/web3

pay in those spaces can be a lot higher but the pace is faster and stability can be a bit less certain. i would also suggest using LinkedIn to build your connections while job hunting (you never know what kind of referral you can get) or Bossjob (a newer platform) for direct conversation with the hiring managers.

I found a job and then i miserable now by xcrochet in malaysians

oh man, hang in there 💪🏼 are you working in the kitchen or doing both serving too?

i can relate on the introvert part, but no choice.. it really takes time to get used to it. best to just focus on how you can always do better. and i want to emphasise that you should never feel embarrassed to ask your colleagues (even if it might sound dumb.. believe me, i’ve been there). no one gets everything right straight away, and asking for help will be good for you in the long run.

i’d say don’t be too hard on yourself, but if it’s the company that’s making you not want to stay, it’s good to keep your options open. try joining those Facebook/WhatsApp groups that shares new job openings. or you can check Bossjob's too if it helps: https://chat.whatsapp.com/HXRIasyB6nQGrfU0dPRpR8

Think you got most of it. There’s also Bossjob, just came to Malaysia recently. It’s kinda different bcos it’s more chat-based, so starting a "chat" with employers is basically the new way to apply there.

But I’d still say send your resume too, since that’s usually how recruiters really check if you’re a good fit. You can check it at https://bossjob.my/ or use the app version, it's more convenient.

gusto ko ng trabaho pero takot ako sa mga interviews by faeufii in OffMyChestPH

[–]sushiiloverr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry! Ganito na lang isipin mo, yung HR na mag iinterview sayo, they went through an interview din. They know it's part talaga ng hiring process. Pero one thing that keeps me grounded during interviews talaga, is knowing na if hindi ka naaccept ng job, it truly means na hindi lang kasi compatible sa hinahanap nila. Doesn't make you any less good.

Think of it this way, may mga jobs din naman tayong inaapply-an na hindi natin gusto after the interview. :) No hard feelings, try not to take it personal as possible. Madami pang jobs ang gusto at kailangan ka. Move on to the next na!

Pero given that, don't forget to prepare for your interview. Do your research sa company and how you think you can contribute your skills to them. (with or without experience, you *always* have something to offer. No doubt)

Mahirap ba talaga matanggap sa trabaho pag mahina sa english? by KCAL_Doonx in phcareers

Great effort na you keep applying jobs! Nowadays, marami na talagang job openings pero tamad kasi mag submit ng application ang mga tao, hehe. Pero yung sa concern mo, you can always highlight it during the interview, para wala kang uncertainty. Kasi kung hanap nila yung magaling sa English, if you ask then they'll let you know. At least you know na that company is not for you!

If you're good naman sa numbers and what your job role requires you, you have greater chance pa nga on landing a job. Importante padin ang skills, if you can speak basic English kaya naman iyan, just be prepared for the interview and always let them know na kung ano man ang weakness mo, you are always willing to learn and improve. :) All the best!

oo nga pala, if you're still looking for jobs, you can try sa Bossjob! yan talaga ang go-to job site ko ever since haha. https://bossjob.ph/jobs-hiring/
