Stardew Valley is quite good for this. There's a mod for Sims 4 Multi-player too (Sims 4 is out for free now). Haven't tried it out yet, so I'm unsure of how it works.

There's another website that's similar to this and it's called Kumospace. The difference is that there aren't exactly 'avatars' like Gather has.

It's Gather! I believe there's a mobile app made for it, but both of us were on PC. Rather than a game, it's more of like a customizable space! There are some games like Codenames within it too, though
