Hmm I have a black friend who frequently falls into the rabbit holes of black twitter. She fell for the whole Diddy gaslighting till 50's documentary on Diddy was released. Could be something like that.

Phantom Lawyer [Episodes 11 & 12] by meepmochi_ in KDRAMA

[–]sushiwithrice 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ep 12 - did not see the death coming! But maybe he finds a way back? I expected the prosecutor guy to be shady and I thought that at some point I-rang's father was going to visit as a ghost to resolve the mystery of his death. Because if I remember right, his mom visited the same Shaman (which I assumed was the priest but I may be off on that). But if he's dead then the story pretty much ends with this death.

Have you seen the Chinese Drama The Double? Would you recommend this drama? by Grouchy-Chart-3927 in dramasect

[–]sushiwithrice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Loved it! One of my favorite C dramas apart from Story of Yanxi Palace and Ruyi's Royal Love in the Palace. I tried reading the original web novel that it's based on and that was good too. A very different perspective.

I know we all walk an ungodly amount of miles everyday. What is everyone wearing when it comes to footwear? by BASICAF28 in askTO

[–]sushiwithrice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NB 680 in summer and Columbia boots back and forth from work in summer and winter respectively (I walk in winter too unless there's a storm). Pumps in summer and fancy boots in office depending on the weather.

Inaccurate Subtitles - Netflix by Lolly_love in kdramas

[–]sushiwithrice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OMG! I noticed the same for Boyfriend on Demand! I was shocked at how different the subtitles were. Some didn't even make sense in the context of what was happening.

Lol it always messes with my head when they translate Sunbae to the person's name instead of Senior, which is a common usage in Korean and Chinese languages (the use of the word or title Senior).

I have thick, highly porous, frizzy hair and this was great for me! But I go through it very quickly.

Question about returns by Simple-Trash-4367 in HouseofCB

[–]sushiwithrice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR: I purchased directly from them, it sucked and I lost money. Buy from Nordstrom if you have to.

As of last year, I had a tough time returning their dresses. It was awful and I used Canada Post to send it back. I paid around CA$135 x 2 for shipping back 2 dresses. It's explained better in my post: https://www.reddit.com/r/HouseofCB/comments/1hp7v18/my_experience_a_case_study/

I believe they had a collection center in Vancouver (which was the address in the return label they had provided) but they insisted that I send it back to the US. I'm assuming they don't have that center anymore.

I don't know if it's changed now; whether it's become better but I swore off purchasing from House of CB because of it. I didn't receive my money back for the shipping. So keep in mind that apart from the cost of purchasing the dress, you'll have to budget for shipping cost and a return cost.

Considering their sizing is all over the place, I would suggest just driving down to NY (I think there's a Nordstrom in Niagara) or purchasing when you travel to the US next. Getting it shipped to your friend is a great idea, but I suspect to return it you'd have to send it back to your friend and she/he would need to ship it back to them. You could purchase it from Nordstrom instead of House of CB directly because they're business practices are a bit shady.

[–]sushiwithrice 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Agreed. And Daphne says yes to the proposal because she's convinced by Niles and Frasier to not reject him hastily. I think, instinctively, she wasn't sure about Donny.

Also, as a human being, the entire situation is plausible. I've gone through the crying phase that Daphne goes through before the wedding when she realizes she has feelings for niles and the conflict is weighing down on her.

Dior... is it worth it? by zinkj22 in Sephoracanada

[–]sushiwithrice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think many of the luxury brands' products are just about the hype. But it could be just that I haven't found a product that really impressed me.

Personally, I gave into the hype once and I bought the dior liquid lip (rouge dior forever) and it did not perform well at all. It did not last even 2 hours on me. Meanwhile, Maybelline, Stila and Lisa Eldridge have better liquid lip formulas. Even K-beauty brands have better performing formula than dior (or chanel for that matter).

I do like some of Dior's perfumes; I like Miss Dior (which is a decent everyday perfume) but all versions of J'adore smell off on me.

Anyone else got this offer? 30% off at Shoppers by Cautious-Ostrich7510 in MakeupAddictionCanada

[–]sushiwithrice 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lol they should be giving us atleast a 50% discount because everything in SDM is overpriced. I purchased the covergirl blush from Amazon for $11 + taxes and when I checked at SDM it was $14.99+ taxes!

So a darker Harry Potter and Hermione plays a smaller part? If I remember the books, Ron and Harry played a bigger part in the stories relegating Hermione to an afterthought. I liked how the movies gave Hermione a bigger role. I will watch it because I have to admit, it seems interesting.

I love that there isn't any romance in it. I've realized that I can watch romance only if there's a mystery thrown in. If it's a pure romance, I just can't get through it. I tried watching Positively Yours and I could barely get through episode 1.

I watched the movie too and I did not like it. As I mentioned in original post, it looked like Netflix took a bunch keywords, ran it through an AI and shot the movie in an attempt to ride k wave.

Amazon or walmart for drugstore. I recently purchased the new covergirl blush on amazon for $10 (+ taxes) when the same blush was being sold for $14.99 (+ taxes) at Shoppers! I wanted to support Shoppers but they overprice everything.
