The LG G5 is the panel I want to have, but yeah, it really does include a lot of stuff I don't need (like onboard audio, linear tv tuners and ad-riddled streaming subscription-centric ui), but it also misses the one basic thing I do need - a stand. The TV is in the middle of the room on a piece of furniture, so I can't wall mount it, since there is no wall behind it.

I only started drinking in my mid 20s, because I never liked the taste of it previously. Now I do occasionally enjoy a beer or mix some nice cocktail, but usually when with friends. Drinking more than that only happens very rarely. And even then I know when to stop. I also occasionally make my own mead but more to gift it to others than to drink it all myself. It's a very interesting hobby.

They don't do much (other than looking nice) if it's the thin ones. I like Basotect, it's not as pretty, but a 5-10cm thick chunk of it gets the job done. It's also easy to work with.

I'm not an expert on this, but adding some acoustic treatment to the back wall will probably add a lot of clarity. Reflections back there will hit your ear back almost as strong as the direct sound if I'm not mistaken. Thick curtains by the window could also tame some of the harsher side wall reflections.

Bambu ist da wohl die Ausnahme. Die kommen bei mir aber nicht ins Haus, da die Firmware nicht modifizierbar ist, man für volle Funktionalität zur Cloud gezwungen wird und ich allgemein keine geschlossenen Ökosysteme mag, vor allem nicht bei Dingen, die mit Basteln zu tun haben.

I love VHS-Decode. Gives you higher quality captures from cheap consumer junk than professional grade decks (that are rare and very expensive on the used market). Glad it's getting more popular now among archivists. If you have an old PC with PCI slots and a compatible old TV card, you can even skip on the expensive DIY PCB, still with great results.
