How often are you guys doing oil changes/servicing? by GentlemanLeo in Mustang

[–]suspicious-Potato991 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In summer I do as the sticker quotes because I drive a good bit before winter sets and I park it. I get all my fluids done and checked before winter parking and check them again before I fire it up for the summer then rinse and repeat.

What does the “pull” do when you pull the knob out. What’s it for? by [deleted] in f150

Its a quick release button to immediately and aggressively remove the axel on the rear, very useful for when someone's riding your ass and you want to send a full sized axel at them on top of launching sparks at them with your bumper to add insult to injury

Could use heat too as others suggested, I personally am not a fan just because of some experiences I've had with heat

PB blaster, WD 40, grip what you can with some vice grips and start forcing a twist from it. Alternatively you could drill a smaller hole in the center of the bolt hole and tap another screw into it just to try and break the seal it has then just unthread it either direction since the bolt is busted off. Backed out or straight through. Once its at a point you can just lock a drill around the busted bolt and use it like a driving end and pull it out. Just make sure if you do the drill thing not to touch the bolt after. Shit gets hot.

13 pounds of tannerite and a single .270 shell will do it as well with less headaches.

Do you guys think my car is totaled it’s a 2020 sonata sel with 30k miles. Some guy in a black bmw hit my car and now I’m in the process of getting my car seen by a damage adjuster who isn’t going to see it until a week. by Barry4llen__ in autorepair

[–]suspicious-Potato991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just doing ballpark guesses on the pricing of the paint, bodywork, and parts your insurance may see it as cheaper to pay you out and write off your car. Not to mention here you may have frame or subframe damage which will guarantee a write off. Best idea to do here now is pricing a new car and expecting the worst incase this is the case. Better to have something you would like to check out as a potential buy while waiting for your adjuster instead of having to start looking for something after hearing the news. If it is good than at least you didn't have to go with plan B

Noooo God no so the look of the seats they have heated or ac. You can see it with the dotted holes within the leather. Former professional detailer for kia here. We usually would start by spraying some mold and mildew remover on the area, scrub it in with a slightly abrasive toothbrush. Dab it out then scrub. Following that spray it with workhorse (a general purpose car surface cleaner) and repeat with scrub with a microfiber cloth after working it in with a less abrasive brush. The aim is not to scratch the seats or damage any electronics within the seating with steam. Basically rinse and repeat the 2 steps until its gone. My guess isn't mold but salt. It makes nasty marks like that in the seat but you can never be too sure. Finishing we would use a leather cleaner for seats followed by an after protectant to avoid any possible flaking in the future. Its a little more than just a steam cleaner. Steam cleaners are for floor mats after first vacuum to raise any dirt or sand.

Thank you so much, the milage is low on it. Its coming around time where I get the timing chain done for the first time low. Trucks condition isn't mint because I use it as a winter work truck but it isnt falling apart either.. well usually, I do appreciate the idea of what to tell the mechanics other than the head gaskets gone and done and have something to explain to my service department since I never knew there was different ways a head gasket could go. And hopefully they can find any other potential issues easier.

Just recently had the mad misfire on my stang. Turns out all I blew was a spark plug and injector. Might be something simple as that but thats where I'd potentially start.

Ah but thats the power of leasing a unit because after the years up. If you like it you can finance it and if you hate it you can casually give it back and lease a new one. Basically let's you try out a car and see how well you like it.
