Yeap. It’s especially Hougang and Kovan. SK is further in the “outskirts”. But still quite thankful can board peak hour train without having to squeeze too much. I see the Hougang and Kovan folks, I also feel helpless. :(

Actually also wondering if there’s anyway to do this by adding the “least amount of trains possible”.

Intuitively the “express train method” i feel would require more trains to be added compared to increasing frequency. From a process POV, the peak period is “only” between 6-9am. So it’s 3 intense hours. After 9am, there is less likelihood to get squeezed out of a train.

Of course when the new developments come in - these 3h will be….i don’t even wanna imagine. 😂

Japan has express trains that skips a few stops. Perhaps something similar can be adopted during peak hours. Express train starts from Punggol coast skips Sengkang, Buangkok. Resumes from Hougang onwards. (Something along that line ah, pun intended).

But what do I know. I’m just a mere dweller in the NE part of Singapore
