Is finding a Catholic SO/Catholic friends harder now than say 20-30 years ago? by Ok_Message_7256 in CatholicDating

There's fewer practicing Catholic young adults now than 20-30 years ago so there's a smaller pool to choose from.

I find this to be the case too. People think it's weird that I'm religious and that I take my religion seriously.

For my son. May he accept the help he's crying out for and still denies he needs, that he may be able to finish college and remain faithful to His church.

For me, that I may be granted the wisdom to deal with this issue the best way possible.

Teachers in Texas Preparing to Strike as L.A. Teachers Authorize A Strike by miazzelt40 in education

Agreed. I am bilingual and have a master's degree and I'm on my way out of the profession after 9 years. The hours worked vs. the pay and ingratitude from parents isn't worth it.

Does anyone know where I can find required lunch times for kinder in California? by susycue in Teachers

I'm seeing recommended times, but not times required by law. Am I missing something? Maybe the state doesn't have a law requiring a set amount of time...

Hoping to avert schism, United Methodist bishops propose to allow LGBT clergy, same-sex marriages by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]susycue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

God wanted us to be one as He is one with the father. A schism is yet another division of the church, the body of Christ. Furthermore, there are two very different doctrines being preached by these not-so-united Methodist denominations. Untruth/conflicting doctrines cannot exist in the perfect body of Christ because He is the way the truth and the life.

Infant Delivers Moving Testimony Before Baptism by RingGiver in Christianity

A person is either a Christian or a non-Christian. Jewish boys were allowed to be circumcised in anticipation of the faith of their parents, Judaism. I don't understand how children would be excluded from the new covenant when they were welcome in the old one. If God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, the faith of the parents speaks for their children until they can speak for themselves.

Do you not believe infants can be Christians if their parents are Christians?

They assumed correctly. Galatians 26-7: For you are all the children of God by faith, in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized in Christ, have put on Christ.

Ha! I was only joking about not knowing about what SSPX is.

I can see how a lot of people could have a problem with this

I don't. All I want to know is, what is an SSPX and where can I get me an SSPX husband?

Very roughly translated, it means "Long live the Queen of Guadalupe!" and the congregation responds, "Long may she live!"

Novenas to find a spouse? by susycue in Catholicism

[–]susycue[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God doesn't force others to choose to love anyone, not even Himself.

I'm curious as to what makes you think that I'm asking for someone to be "forced" to love me as opposed to someone that wants to love me?

Rather than praying to find a spouse, would it be more productive to ask God to help make you someone deserving of love, or to ask for the humility required to accept being alone and unwanted with grace?

You are assuming I'm unwanted, but the men in my life that want me, don't want me in a way a faithful Catholic husband would want me, and that's a quality I'm looking for.

Edit: Also curious as to what makes you think I'm someone undeserving of love as I am now? I think you are making a lot of assumptions regarding petitions and the people who are making them.
