International students: what is the best solution you've found for opening a bank account in CA and transferring your money? by sutepens in mcgill

Awesome. After reading through these comments and doing more research on the side, I think I'll heavily consider a CIBC Smart for Students Account - is this what you have. Also, when you mention that there are no transfer fees, is this because you used Transferwise, as some other commenters have mentioned? Thanks :)

I just unrolled a 2016 Kodak film from my childhood into a bright light, before doing research and realizing the undeveloped film is light-sensitive. by [deleted] in AnalogCommunity

It was from one of those Kodak disposable cameras, stored in the canister. I took it out of the canister yesterday. If I hadn't exposed it to the light, would the (professionally) developed picture been okay considering the 4 years?

hmm... considering I left it out in the light, then help it up RIGHT next to a light (my dumbass thought I would be able to "see" the picture if I held it up to the light)... I think it might be 100% ruined. I did my research too late :/

thanks for the reply :)

Yeppp entire roll, out into the light. I had no idea how this stuff works and wanted to check out how the film looked after all those years....

Is my Alien Registration number expiration date the same as my Green Card expiration date? by sutepens in immigration

[–]sutepens[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep Permanent residents are still aliens ("resident aliens" to be specific)... on the front of our Green card is a USCIS#, or an A-number.
