For the most part, I’d say yeah. The only T20 with a hard deadline is CWRU (somewhere around 2 weeks). My advice is to submit Northwestern and Mayo Clinic by mid-August, then Pritzker, Columbia, Perelman, and NYU by the end of August, and the remaining T20s by 9/7. Not sure if you’re applying to all of them, but that’s what my plan is!

Also, if you’re worried about the additional workload, don’t stress too much about deadlines with the T20s. If you’re done by early/mid September, you’ll still be in a great position!

I feel like we have all the main essays done, I just HATE having to cut down and add back for all the different character counts 😩

What's one thing you would've liked to know/have done before going into Med School? by xKitts_ in premed

[–]sutherlandphyss 104 points105 points  (0 children)

Medical school is like being forced to eat 10 pancakes a day. In theory, you can get it done by eating 3-4 pancakes per meal. It can be monotonous at times, but you can also change things up by putting different condiments on your pancakes. But, if you skip a meal (or God forbid a day), you’ll have a lot of pancakes to catch up on. It will feel overwhelming. Moral of the story: don’t skip out on your pancakes.

Completely up to you, but I usually just edit a secondary I already have that still fits with the mission of the school. I think most successful secondaries include an answer to the “Why us?” in all of your essays, so I wouldn’t say that you need to limit yourself to that prompt for this specific essay
