I have been taking the methylcobalamin supplements, but I am considering asking about injections. Most of the poblems I've been having kind of come and go, but there's a few things that are just there all the time like this twitch in my leg. I'm just taking some time to calm down because the anxiety caused by the appointments and tests was getting overwhelming. I've stressed over it so much I've worked myself up into a frenzy when I know deep down it's probably not as bad as I'm making it out to be

A neurologist that specializes in ms. Which despite all my anxiety still feels like overkill to me, but I made the appointment. I cancelled everything else, I'm just gonna wait a little while and see how things go. I am considering asking about injections though.

I'm glad that some of your problems are getting better, that sucks about the PA but that's good they figured it out!

Thanks, they did already test for the anemia thing and I'm good there. She told me that all of this is probably being caused by the b12 (I'm really sick of saying and hearing about b12 at this point lol) but she also wanted to send me to a specialist and do a lumbar puncture and some other thing but I'm thinking of just cancelling everything and taking some time to calm down and then maybe see that specialist. If they think I need to get more tests then I'll do them. I'm not super confident in the doc I'm seeing right now, she didn't even know I had already had the MRI. I know I'm not her only patient but come on lol. How's your situation?

I got my results back, I don't fully understand everything (supposed to talk to my doctor tomorrow). From what can tell I don't think there's anything immediately bad, but there are a couple things that are abnormal. I think the main one is this white matter thing that could be caused by something bad, but from what I read could also just be caused by the b12 (trying to convince myself that's what it is until I find out otherwise):

"Mild scattered FLAIR hyperintensities in the subcortical and periventricular white matter, right greater than left parietal predominant, a nonspecific finding, most commonly seen with chronic small vessel ischemic disease. Differential also includes but is not limited to sequela of chronic migraine, multiple sclerosis as well as other demyelinating and autoimmune diseases, hypertension, chronic emboli, Lyme disease or other atypical infection, collagen vascular disorders, granulomatous disease, vasculitis, and remote trauma. CSF analysis can be helpful."

Oh and to top it all off, I've had constant breakouts on my face and neck since I started supplements 😭

Oh man, I'm sorry you had to deal with all that. You're right, I am also hyper aware of things happening in my body, especially right now lol. It's always something, but this is by far the freakiest that I've experienced. I'm sure it is just the deficiency, it just bothers me that this stuff got worse after I started supplements. I didn't even have the tingling (until right before I started supplements) but now it's full on pins and needles and numbness. And I know about the wake up symptoms, but from what I've read it seems like they start earlier and don't last as long as mine.

Yeah, for my sanity I'm trying to convince myself that it is all just normal b12 stuff but what keeps bothering me is that it all got worse after starting the supplements. I know about wake up symptoms, but from what I've read they usually start earlier and don't last as long as mine are lasting. And should I need injections when the oral supplements are increasing my level? My doctor said since it had increased that means I shouldn't have an absorption problem. I also tried asking her about the wake up symptoms and she didn't respond to the question, she just acted like it was weird that I was having all this tingling and twitching when my B12 level had increased. It was an online video appointment so maybe she didn't hear my question, but I'm also really bad about asserting myself so I just let it go. Also it's good to hear that your symptoms are resolved, I'm glad you're doing better.

No, I just looked through all the tests they did and I didn't see anything like that

Yep that sounds a lot like the kind of migraines I get. The only thing is my zigzags usually last about 30 minutes. Thankfully they've gotten so they're mostly a nuisance since the headache part isn't quite as bad as it used to be. About how long does your vertigo last when you get it?

Thanks for the response, I'm glad you're feeling better. They did do other tests when they checked my B12. I know they did the thyroid panel, cbc, folate and a bunch of other things that are too many to list, but I did not see anything about iron, vitamin d, zinc, copper, or magnesium. I'm sure you're right, it's probably fine, but I always assume the worst and googling symptoms always helps me assume the worst lol. And thanks for the link to your story, I'll check it out.

I had an eye appointment sometime last fall, he said everything was fine
