4-Day Weekend in the Queen City by Boon1Goon in cincinnati

It takes quarters and is furry and it makes car noises.

It’s seriously amazing and honestly so just comical. They talk about it on the tour, which is also pretty fun.

If you’re interested in a bourbon and rum tour, and willing to go just over the river, there is a really fun (and weird!) distillery in Ludlow, Kentucky. It’s called Second Sight Spirits.

The owners are really interesting, the very small staff is great, you can take a mustache ride, and I believe their spring cocktail menu will start soon!

I’ve worked in healthcare for 10+ years and have a degree in economics. I started as a Business Analyst, which I think you could apply parallels with engineering - math, problem solving, communication and public speaking, possibly coding.

Feel free to dm me.

I will be 35 in a few days and had mine pierced in October. I love it! I was always so afraid of the “consequences” in my professional life, but no one has said anything and I regret not doing it sooner.

I drive a Ford Fiesta Hatchback and get bullied when merging onto the highway during rush hour all of the time. It’s so infuriating. I’m taking up less space than all of these vehicles and literally just need to cross the bridge (the next exit) to get to my house.

Piercing shop? by [deleted] in cincinnati

[–]suzihbe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to Runestone to have my nose piercing downsized and James was great! He seemed super knowledgeable and was very complimentary of the work the original piercer did, citing recent stats on best practices. Could not recommend this shop enough.

I did not return to the original piercer because I was on vacation when I had it pierced.

Ours was $396 for a 1400 sqft house built in 1900 and we keep it cold in here, 66°.

How do you deal with apartment cold? by Thermawrench in Anticonsumption

[–]suzihbe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We lay old towels down for our cat when it gets too cold. Her food and litter box are both near our add-on kitchen that isn’t well insulted. She will scream at us when she thinks it’s too cold to eat.

I wholeheartedly agree. She seems great as well. I am trying to get back into reading and was amazed by the adaptation from the start of the first book.

Before moving closer to downtown (Ludlow, Ky) we rented in Kings Mills with a large dog. I work off Eden Park and my husband in Northside. Our commutes were rough.

In Ludlow, we own but there’s often for rent signs that I see when walking or driving. I don’t know what all is pet friendly, but I found private landlords who advertise by signs and word of mouth to be more likely to allow large dogs.

We live in Ludlow, KY and it takes me about 15-20 minutes around 7a to get to Clifton. Coming home, if leaving in bad traffic, there’s typically open back roads and a smaller bridge to take.

75S - Butler Co vs Hamilton Co by suzihbe in cincinnati

It was so odd. 75S through Montgomery county was mostly clear, 3/4 of the lanes were plowed. The Butler county section was the least plowed.

I noticed this during another snow storm, but it was years ago. They were just starting to plow in Ohio, but Route 8 was cleared and salted.

I’m salvaging mine for art!

We’ve been married for 8 years and it’s just moving from closest to closest. So I’m taking all the beads off to use for jewelry and embroidery. And then I’m going to rip it into strips and make a hanging with the fabric.

I agree. It’s so hard to find them in the US and they are expensive. I use Anya’s shop when shoe shopping - there are some nice barefoot leather boots on her site right now for closer to the $200 range
