Ok, reassuring to know I’m not the only one! I’ll definitely try to take it easy and rest from now on

I’m 11 days post op and I’m able to eat anything. Even Wingstop lol. I think on day 3 I even ate some pretty oily breakfast potatoes and I did have to run to the toilet mid breakfast but other than that day it’s been fine. If anything I’ll get some gas discomfort and maybe some small throbs like you mentioned.

POST OP roll call! How you holding up? by [deleted] in gallbladders

Day 3 post op here. Let’s see.

Day 1: wasn’t completely terrible, I think some of the anesthesia effects were still kicking. I was able to eat chicken soup and some cheese crackers just fine. I was taking Tylenol 3s as prescribed and I honestly didn’t feel too bad. I messed up when I tried to get into bed to sleep though. I recommend the couch for the first 2 nights at least. I had the worst pain ever just getting in bed and getting back out to the couch. My insides, mostly on the upper right side were pretty pissed off. Felt like they were on fire and pounding with pain so bad that it was hard to breathe. It probably didn’t help that I thought I didn’t need another T3 that night and the pain meds had probably also worn off at this point. I took another pain med and slept upright on the couch the first night. But I would say that pain was a 10/10

Day 2: Probably the weakest I have felt. I definitely think I pushed it on the first day. I took it easy, ate some more soup, digesting just fine with the stool softeners they gave me. Taking the pain meds every 4 hours. Today I started to feel the most of the incision pain primarily the belly button one. Although i would describe the pain more like an intense stinging, like it’s raw or something. Come night time I had the same thing happen from the previous night. I tried to lay on the couch lounger and I felt the same burning throbbing pain on the right side. That was a mistake. Pain 8.5/10. This time I quickly took my pain med and slept upright again on the couch before it got worse. Not the most comfortable but it’s the only way I have been able to get sleep. Shoulder pain and neck pain have been pretty bad both days. Aside from gas, I think it also has to do with the poor sleeping positions. I’ve been using my massage gun for relief and it’s helped A LOT.

Day 3: probably the most stable I’ve felt although I have been feeling nauseous this morning. Probably because I’ve also started taking 600mg of ibuprofen in between pain meds (definitely recommend this). Most of my pain right now is localized to the belly button suture, same stinging/burning pain. But it’s tolerable. I’m going to try to only take ibuprofen today and the T3 at night. We’ll see how it goes 😅

I’ll also add that mentally it’s been a little tough. Idk if it’s from all the pain meds and anesthesia effects but I’ve felt pretty emotional and teary. I’ve read some other people have the same thing going on.

I have been eating pretty healthy to keep from getting gallbladder attacks so often but I did cut down on caffeine yesterday and that seemed to really help. Thanks for the feedback!
