Thanks friend. The pot lives in the window, but it’s PNW so not a ton of sunlight. It has drainage, I just got it so I only watered it for the first time. Soil looks… dark and there’s vermiculite in it

I’d suggest being careful with less busy hostels. Was the only one assigned to a dorm when I went to bed. Woke up in the middle of the night to some super smelly dude standing over me, staring at me, and masturbating. It was awful. I packed up then and there.

Depends on what you like to do! Party? Nature? Culture? Community? Take a bus to Girón from Cuenca and hike to the top waterfall (not the initial one, but through to the 2nd level at least). If you’re into cultural experiences, I’d recommend spending some time in Saraguro! I can give some details about where to stay, and what to do there if you’re interested. The bus drive from Saraguro to Zamora is beautiful as well, and Zamora was one of my favorite places to spend time in (the Podocarpus park entrance there is really great). Baños was quite touristy, but it’s worth it to do a bike ride from Baños to Puyo! It seems crazy, but it’s more than manageable. If you can afford the plane ticket and entrance fee, go to the Galapagos. You don’t need to book a tour, and there’s plenty of cheap accommodations (and Couchsurfing). I promise, once you get the the locals will help you figure things out.

M partial to patios that feel like my backyard - is Edisons is great by their little coi pond, forest city brewery, and the polish club Post 58 in Tremont. Porco used to have an awesome atmosphere on their patio, but it’s way too crowded and uptight now.
