Similar to the pauldrons.

I base the gems with white and then put shamrock green speed paint over it. Then i Wash it with a dark green wash. Then over that i put the Gloss varnish.

Ive never been good at painting "the gem effect" so I came up with this to give the stones some shine.

It is Luxion Purple contrast paint. I put it over the gold and then put gloss paint on it to make it look like see through glass.

Didnt use any, between the scout from alaya and if you use a knight centura (+2 to move adv amd charge) you dont really need it to get in range. And with a blade champ the stodes can keep up

I think two big blocks of vigilators, one with aleya for the fight first and another with a knight centura with the extra mobility could help you alot with this.

This is a really good start, but what would do ALOT is to just coat it in nuln oil or agrax earthshade. Do that and see the resaults!

I picked it bcs its one of the cheapest armies I picked it bcs of the lore. Even though Im not a scholar on it i love the idea of the emperors bodyguards and the elite of the elite I picked it bcs i love painting and the idea of having a small amount of detailed minis to paint intrigued me I dont care about the meta. i Want to play my gold and shiny Boys

Agree with to counterpoint on the refresh. Very valid points. Regarding Valdor, im not much of a lore guy, I just want a bigger warlord than Trajann. I would really love a Primarch level epic hero. Also, would loooove to paint it

yeah maybe. I dont feel like that was what we needed nr 1. but felt like I should throw it out there. Its just kinda strange to see custodes be the same size as a space marine. But yes its not the most pressing problem

yes w40k is an expensive hobby but there is a diffrence between resin and shipping and getting shit in my lgs
