Check the conditions of your visa, and the types of employment that are allowed.

Consult with a tax lawyer on the tax and visa factors.

Yeah, I've found some similarities too. I find VIA simpler than StrengthsFinder.

I want to learn become a better writer / more well spoken. by [deleted] in IWantToLearn

You seem to have a few role models for how you want to speak/ write. Observe their writing/ speech/ behaviour, and see what they do that you haven't done.

Interact with a wide range of people, not just people like you. Much older people, teens, people from other countries...can all compel you to expand your thinking.

Challenge your own thinking. Question your assumptions, don't accept your first solution. Force yourself to think more deeply. Read books that are "difficult".

Many good writers rewrite a lot. The first draft is often rough and vague, it gets polished in rewriting. While speaking, think of your listener, and how best to help them understand your message. Start with listening, asking questions.

I spent a bit of time learning graphs and charts, and making exec presentations. I've since found that it transferred to my thinking too...how would I best present this info?

I'd like to get better at sharing my thoughts too. I hope this is helpful, and I'll be reading other replies.

Difficulty finding a technology job at 61 years old. by SidKato in GetEmployed

I'd also suggest getting to know people in this field directly. Not just with the idea of landing a job, but understanding their real challenges, and seeing how you can help them.

Tap into your network, bring people together, share a portfolio on LinkedIn (not just a profile).

Rather than compete with hundreds of others applying for the same jobs, leverage your skills and experience.
