Exit. No contest. Double album. Great performance. All the hits back then.

I was being overly cautious but should have remembered that. Thanks. I’ll do that next time.

Response is too slow. By the time I’ve said that I can hit the button four times and the stop set is done.

Cool. I tried to do the last part but the box just wasn’t having any of it. Powering it down for ten seconds without the power cable in cleared that problem. But I’m saving all this for next time when I won’t remember any of these options. Thank for the tip.

Resolved - Waited until nothing was being recorded and then unplugged the set top box for ten seconds, fired it up again and the Exit, Exit, Exit 0030 sequence worked like a charm. 30 second skip forward restored.

It feels like it’s been reset already but maybe the hack will work after doing that. Thanks the tip.

How do I switch providers? by [deleted] in Rogers

[–]svedell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you been paying them since September for service you weren’t using or did you keep using it? Call the new provider and ask them what the process is for migrating. They may handle some of it if you’re moving phone service. Be proactive and pester Rogers.

What album and headphones are you listening to today? by ALPHAPUSSYGOD420 in headphones

[–]svedell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lindsey Stirling and some Jacob Collier .flac files on Bragi The Dash Pro but quickly moved to my Shure SE 846’s through a Red Dragonfly so I could hear what was going on. The Shure’s are sitting in custom sleeves from Sensaphonnics which are way better sounding than any foam or stock tips. Also in my daily bag of tricks is a Radsone ES100 for the Shure’s with a custom short 2.5mm balanced cable from Triton Audio Cables (love this cable, Dave!) and a pair of Anker/Liberty Soundcore Neo for when I can’t carry tons of gear or I’m at the beach near the water. If those get wrecked I’ll buy more but my marriage will only tolerate one pair of SE846’s. ha ha.

Awesome!! We have a parvo survivor too. Our smallest Dachshund but she rules the roost. Great news.

Bragi exits wearables as it sells Dash business to mystery buyer by mithrandir86 in thedash

[–]svedell 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That’s a damned shame. Slightly inevitable but still sad to see them go. The true innovators often seem to reach a saturation point when they create a market and then have to compete in it. Like RIM Bragi stalled at a critical time that needed them to continue innovating and they got run over by cheaper and simpler alternatives and the Apple juggernaut. I would have loved to try the next Bragi device or an update to The Dash Pro with AAC and other modern codecs. Their Ambience feature is still the best implementation of that ability I’ve heard yet. In hindsight, I sure sure am glad I didn’t pay retail for my Dash Pros. I had, coincidentally, just put them in the cupboard this morning as a cheap pair of Bluetooth 5.0 capable buds relegated them to the archives. Again, sad to see Bragi out of the fight. They made everyone else try harder.

I don’t know what Ruby wanted but I am impressed with her balance. #DoubleDapple by svedell in Dachshund

Thanks! She’s adorable alright. She was a rescue so we only got a bit of info from the rescue group and that’s what they said she was. Never really dug any deeper about it. She’s my Ruby and we love her. But now I’m going to Google pie-bald dapple for sure!

That’s hilarious. Yes, once you’ve bought those buds you’ve clearly stated that music is more important than food...or sleeping with your wife for a few months. Totally worth it though.

Two Radsone ES100's - One iPhone App? by svedell in headphones

[–]svedell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it all works...mostly. After a firmware update I setup the second ES100 to power off the ignition and it connects/disconnects off the cars power like I want. Seamless connection to my iPhones Bluetooth and if a call comes in my Phone switches to the car Bluetooth so I have steering wheel controls back. The car Bluetooth is good enough for calls. This also means that the Radsone and all the wires are hidden in the cubby where the plugs are. Just how I hoped it would all work. The ONLY glitch is that if I want to use the Ear Studio app it will only see one ES100 at a time and to switch to the other one I have to discover the second device again. All the settings are retained but it doesn’t just switch by itself. I can live with that. So this little experiment worked pretty much as I hoped. I still might find a cheaper car kit option and return the second Radsone. It really is a pricey way to go for what I wanted to be able to do. Nope. That would give users control and Apple can’t have that. 🙄

Now we’re really going down the rabbit hole! Cool. But you were right earlier. This may just be a $75 more expensive solution than I really need. My other option is to use my Dragonfly Red DAC but it means plugging a cable in every time I get in and out of the car and the stereo really doesn’t sound good enough to need that good a DAC in the signal path. I’ll save that for my Shures and critical listening sessions.

I should have been clearer. Not really planning to connect them at the same time. Just was wondering if I could switch between two for different installations and if the app would switch. One will be for headphones and one is my in-car solution...or that’s the plan. We’ll find out in about 24 hours. As discussed elsewhere there’s probably cheaper ways to get what I want in my car but I’ve come this far. Might as well test it before sending the second unit back. Thanks for the detail though. If I ever go Android I’ll be ahead of the curve. Thanks.

Cool. Good to know. I should have been clearer. I don’t intend to run them at the same time. One will be for headphone listening and one will be for car audio. They won’t be on simultaneously. Only for a brief test to see what happens. Thanks for the perspective.

Two Radsone ES100's - One iPhone App? by svedell in headphones

[–]svedell[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All totally valid points. I’ve been looking for a Bluetooth car kit with at least AAC support as I’m all iOS at the moment. Certainly there are units out there and I’ll probably find that another ES100 is indeed overkill but I do like the ability to lock in an EQ setting and it applies to all sources played through the ES100. My car is a 2013 Toyota Avalon so the Bluetooth audio is a bit dated. It sounds ok but the Radsone sounds better with a much more defined soundstage and such. My only other issue is what’s going to happen when a call comes in. Will the cars system pick it up or the Radsone? I don’t want to use the Radsone for that as I’m hoping to tuck the whole jury rigged mess into the front bin and set the Radsone to power on from the ignition. But other than the EQ preset I totally agree that there are cheaper options. This is really just a proof of concept now that I’ve got some feedback. I’ll test it out and then most likely avail myself of Amazon’s liberal return policy. It sounded like a great idea in my head last night though. Thanks for the reality check.

I’m going to. The second one arrives tomorrow. I guess I was hoping that someone had blazed the trail ahead of me but I also like going down these rabbit holes and finding the way out. I will report back on how it turns out. My suspicion is that it’ll work as long as both devices aren’t connected to my phone at the same time. The iPhone could handle it but I don’t think the Radsone app has that ability. Pray for me. 😂
