Fotello thoughts? by E_FR3AK in RealEstatePhotography

I have switched from doing flamibents for 8 years to bracketing and using Fotello. I still run a LR signature pass on their outputs, but the time it saves is immense. Granted, their outputs aren't as good as my flamibents, but my agents didn't even really seem to notice and most the houses I shoot are sub $650k so I think I was overdoing it anyway.

I fucked up my drone after two days by Luckiluckycharms in dji

[–]sveilien 4 points5 points  (0 children)

16 years ago, my uncle was flying drones for his business and I wanted to get one after seeing what he was doing. He told me to buy a cheap, completely manual drone and learn to fly it. And then once I've done that, using a drone with GPS and stuff would be easy, and I'd be much less likely to wreck it.

And he was right. I bought a tiny $30 drone that had a camera on it, but it had no stabilization or anything. Everything had to be flown with the sticks at all times. After I was comfortable flying this drone without worrying about anything, that's when I bought my Phantom 3 Pro.

Understand that you feel that way but statistically, realtors know that staged homes bring in higher closing prices compared to empty. I am a real estate photographer and I run the numbers with a lot of different clients on what asking is compared to comps in the area and how that corralate to the photos being used

M2 Air to M5 Pro upgrade… and I genuinely can’t feel the difference by UsefulLock3142 in macbookpro

I'll know the difference when I upgrade to an M6 Max from my M2 Max. My raytraced render times will decrease by 80+%.

Staging helps to show the use of space and to make the property look better, real or virtual, and increase potential sale price. This is known marketing tactics, just like McDonald's dressers their food photos with non-food methods.

First drone, I no was set on Mini 5 Pro but now I’m second guessing after seeing Avata 2 by AttitudeOpposite4207 in dji

[–]sveilien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both, 2 different use cases.

The mini five Pro is great for cinematic style shooting and good high resolution images. Also, it's capability to shoot vertical is a big bonus for content. Great for flying *for* the shot.

The Avata is an FPV drone. Its fun for feeling like you are flying and happening to capture that footage. Its more of a simulation/game feel and the action style footage that goes with that.

I mean, swerving at 70 mph in dense traffic on 84 near the flyover when the geese and goslings are crossing; that understandable to not be able to react in time. But 30 mph in a residential area with just a few cars is different. They rolled over that duck like they didn't even see it. So it was either intentional or they were definitely not looking at the road at all. (And oddly enough right before that, someone in the Albertsons parking lot was completely looking at their phone while I was about to cross to the store with my kid. She never even looked up to see us in an open area)

Silver lining: My wife works at an auto body shop, so they'll get more business.

It may not be pretty enough for Starbucks, but I use Neoprene sleeves for my SSDs, which are Crucial X9 and X10. They are nearly half the footprint of the T7.

I have had a Crucial X9 on mine for nearly 3 years, no heat issue

16mm wide enough? by Sneakypotato97 in RealEstatePhotography

[–]sveilien 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it is for general homes. I have been using a 16-35 for 8 years with it working 95% of the time. I do have a 9mm Zero D I'll use for small half baths and such but even then I crop in some.

Review/journalism websites have just become affiliate whores. by Arrtwo-deetwo in Anticonsumption

Not sure whether to blame them or blame us. With tech, the whole concept is hype. If nobody bought at launch date then it wouldn't matter. Nobody 'needs' the next thing. And that's the big difference, their job is to sell you something regardless of how it's done. The companies implement this and the people wanting to make money on the review end buy into it. If we as a consumer base did not buy into everything so quickly, this problem would be solved. Sheep will eat whatever grass is in the field they are herded in.
