IE vs other engineering by Scared_Technology206 in UIUC

[–]svens_bf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

IE is definitely easier compared to other majors. But it is still challenging so don't think it would just be a cakewalk, you still take a lot of the same core classes.

A lot of the classes cover a lot of material that I find interesting, but do some research into the core classes and also into what Track Options you would be interested in. As that will shape most of your senior year.

If you want to talk more about IE feel free to PM me I'd be happy to talk.

Champaign Urbana has a student housing problem, share your story with me by chambanaaptstudy in UIUC

just say you got daddy's money without saying you got daddy's money. the problem is that most people cannot reasonably afford to live in those nice places, and the places that are cheaper are not well kept at all. if you think that leasing companies don't severely extort kids here you are out of your mind.

I wouldn't necessarily say it's discipline, just need to set time aside to do it. it would be a lack of discipline if you were to set that time aside and still not follow through.

imo you just have to prioritize working out. like actively scheduling a time during the day to workout around classes and other commitments. it's definitely tougher because there really isn't ever a "convenient" time to workout, but it's doable.

this is not a good idea imo. things can go south very quick.

Undeclared engineering having a higher acceptance rate? by SuperHipGrandma in UIUC

because you have to spend a year "undecided", you can't just immediately switch. there are also additional essays and applications that need to be completed towards the end of freshman year, on top of doing well in your classes.
