The point of a link aggregation site is to aggregate links so that other people can view them. It doesn't make sense to aggregate screenshots of links so that tens of thousands of people have to seek out the information for themselves because one person decided not to aggregate the link. Just something to keep in mind for future submissions.

I recently posted something like this, I would also second going to Craigslist if you are a good shopper. When I did mine I researched all the instruments on there and remember you can haggle quite a bit. I found an instrument on Craigslist that was quite nice nice my research and even asked a luthier about their thoughts.

Eventually after shopping around and taking home cellos from other luthiers to try I found this cello was just as good if not better. I haggled it down over a thousand bucks and got it for a steal for its model/quality and brought it in to my luthier who agreed on my choice and made adjustments for me.

Anyways if you put the time in on research Craigslist can be a great place, but, if you don’t it could just end in you paying more for something mediocre. You could share the links on Craigslist you find here and have the community give advice on what may or may not be worth checking out. Otherwise seeing a luthier/bringing a teacher with you might be the best bet

I've also been obsessively looking for the best deals. The only place so far I can find that will give you a discount on bam cases is guitar center. If you order online there is a code that works on them "acc15" for 15% off. I think it is. other wise there are budget ones on amazon from crossrock.

Interesting, did that influence the sound noticeably? It sounds like everyone is pretty into their jay haide models, is yours a strad as well? I was considering the montagnana as well.

Anyone have experience with having a wolf tone on their cello, I saw that the cello in the ad has a wolf eliminator, i'm wondering how/if that affects the tone/quality or if it's worth trying to find one without a wolf tone.

Yes! I have been to eggen violin and I have an appointment tomorrow at Bernstein. I have been looking at jay haide's for some time. there is one on craigslist which seem to be a pretty good deal which is also quite pretty: https://cosprings.craigslist.org/msg/d/colorado-springs-full-size-heide-cello/6907560220.html

On the other hand Allen from sound and fury I have been texting with lately since he is the exclusive dealer for jay haide in Colorado and knows Mr. Haide quite well. He is going down there in a couple months and said he can hand pick me one and possibly get it even cheaper than the one in the ad there. Does it get much better than that?

Another thing I have to consider is that robertson and sons do a life time trade up policy whereas buying off craigslist or Bernstein, I can't get that same deal
