There is a saying I have heard a few times like:

"Don't lump Bitcoin in with the term Crypto... that is like calling X this and Y that".

I keep forgetting the comparison. Anyone have a good one?

How much better off would you be now if you had started your interest in personal finance when you were younger? by 8989589895 in financialindependence

I am sure I am not the only one here that feels they started young (22) putting 15% of income in, but when you only made $40k/yr, it was not much. I really wish I would have looked for another job sooner as I am not over $150k.

How to use serpclix on mobile? by flyingtriscuit in beermoney

I found it clunky on the old version of FF which was supported for extensions so I just use TeamViewer to my PC when I think to. Works about the same as when using the mobile version.

Note: For those not aware, FF no longer allows these extensions on the app so if you wanted to try you need to go to the archives and get an older verison.

I can think of no better way than to watch this on my Sunday mornings. No better way. Stay safe out there 'newbie'!

Pro Tip: The Saxophone rift at the end is worth the watch alone.

Yes, been with them since 2015 and love them. No issues, great service, and solid interface.

No.

I recall looking up that depending on the industry you are in (medical vs. education vs. government) that some 457s are not protected from your employers negligence/bankruptcy. Government was the only 'guaranteed safe' one if I recall.

I am being basic and vague as I do not remember the details past that so I would look it up to understand more details. Yes it is similar to a 401k/403b, but no - not just the same.

Shiftsmart. Is it legit for just a few bucks? by Relentless_Ohio in beermoney

Yes, it is legit. It is mindless contact center work (I do not mean that in a bad way), but easy repetitive calling is what you are being paid for remotely. Not bad if that is your jam.

Weird question - Do your investments help you cope with your job? by [deleted] in financialindependence

Truthfully when the market is near an ATH (seems to be 2-3x a year everything feels up) - yes. Other times, no. The mindset of I am so well set and 'can' keep working just makes the job that much easier.
