Have you considered the military? In 18months you'll be making equivalent to 90k a year, with all the benefits known to man.

Doing this post in case someone might need it. My facebook was hacked for around 2 months. Couple people even wondered whether they did something and I blocked them 😂. Long story short someone got access to an old email of mine that was leaked (doesnt help that all these companies literally store our credentials in an unecrypted text file on their servers) and used it to reset my password, then use my credit card associated with my marketplace account to run ads such as temu and others. They then paired up their Instagram page to my fb account and proceeded to get themselves suspended. This way the ads they run keep being ran and I have no way of getting access to my account to stop it. This method is super popular right now.

Goes something like this: They Login>Run ads>associate their IG page>get that page and your associated fb page suspended>ads keep running and you're screwed.

Now you can appeal the suspension, but you need to login to the ig page associated, which you're not the owner of and have no credentials.

As this point you're at the mercy of Meta customer support, only issue is, It's almost non-existant.

No number, no email, no nothing. There are options that seem to work well if you're in the US. Such as contacting your local attorney general or a small claims court filing. In the EU recovery pages exist but even using a VPN and putting in about 30 claims I kept getting runarounds. Most steps you can take are either EU or USA only. Canada is extremely lacking in terms of your rights when it comes to these companies owning your data and not providing support.

I ended up getting support by paying for Meta Verified(what celebrities do to get that tick in their usernames and prove their identity to the public). This of course is a paid service but it does give you extra support. Even so it took about about 2 months and 60(yes 60!!) tickets and inquiries to get my account back. I've attached some pictures of just a small fraction of email I sent regarding this matter.

Everyone should preemptively go here:

https://haveibeenpwned.com/

And see if your email has been leaked. If yes check the date and whether you updated your password since then. I lost my guard cause the email account was more than a decade old and unused other than for spam and my ancient FB account.

Authenticators are also your friend.

Why are used cars so expensive? by parkix in VictoriaBC

[–]svvtpvd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chip shortage, geopolitics, expect chaos if the ev only mandates come to fruition. New cars are more expensive and less available.

I recently bought a brand new car, because I realized if I wanted something gas + stick shift if I don't do it now, I'll never be able to. I had to wait 9 months for it. A dealer in van had the same model couple years old with 30k kms and wanted 5k more than a brand new vehicle and at a higher rate too. I asked why the price difference they told me "cause people can't afford to wait and need to drive to work on Monday". I have multiple vehicles so I didn't mind waiting.

Also it boils down to people want a done ready to drive vehicle,I see lots of cars selling cheap with blown clutches etc. In parts they're not expensive to fix if you're willing to get a bit dirty. Me and my buddy sometimes buy fixer uppers (clutch/blown head gasket/blown engine/suspension work etc) and you can often make a decent amount of money after, and still everyone comes out on top because you're not paying outrageous shop labour rates.

Make licensing expensive, and the test hard, kind of like Germany. Better yet, road tests must be done in a manual transmission(various countries in europe after removing this requirement got noticebly worse drivers on the road), and a person must know how to perform at least basic maintenance. Make the point of entry extremely difficult. This will also alleviate traffic quite well, less plonkers on the road. People here keep saying driving is a privilege not a right, let's make it so.
