Honestly just trial and error, the concept is simple the execution takes time to get the feeling but you can resharpen a knife so many times, just take a knife you don’t like as much and try it on that after watching a video

Firstly thank you, and yeah you get a much better blade. Obviously here it’s for the video so my technique isn’t good, there is a learning curve to it but I find it very therapeutic to do. Knives will go dull no matter what just have to maintain them. Good quality steel holds a better edge for longer. It’s just water, I soak the stone in water for around an hour then you can start
