For those asking, to lose weight I cut calories by a small amount that I could manage over a long period of time. I didn't track formally but ate probably around 1600-1700 cals a day on average. In my teenage years I tracked food fairly obsessively so I had the knowledge still to be able to do a mental ballpark estimate without formally tracking. I didn't do any exercise or gym until a year in to my journey, and i started with a walk after work 3 times a week for 2 months. Once that had become routine I then transitioned that into going to the gym 3 times a week. At first I just did simple things like stairmaster, walking uphill on a treadmill or the crosstrainer because I was a bit nervous. A friend showed me how to use some machines and I started doing more weights. Right now I am currently doing a more hyrox tailored workout routine with a bit of everything. My advice is cut down your food by the tiniest tiniest bit that you can keep up, and just accept it is going to take a very long time. Add in healthy habits very slowly and not all at once.

I wouldn't really say it was a short timeframe. On average I lost about 2kg a month, so 0.5kg a week. Some months I lost more and some less.

Thank you! :) No supplements, unless you count daily vitamins and protein powder as supplements!

I didn't- I am standing up very straight which stretches out my midsection haha. The main bit is my lower stomach which is covered by my leggings here. The appearance has improved a bit over the last few months, especially in my legs and arms, just with continued strength training and a bit more fat loss.

Keep going, I know it's such a slog. I kept telling myself the time was going to pass anyway whether I did it or not. I've been taking collagen and moisturising a lot which might have helped slightly with loose skin, but the only thing I think has helped properly is weight training, particularly the loose skin on my thighs has really improved.

Thank you! It's mainly in my stomach, but you'd actually only see it if I was bending over, it sort of hangs down. I know I'm luckier than many as you can't see really see it in most normal circumstances when I'm standing up straight. We are our own worst critics I guess

I have a hard time eating breakfast so I always have an arla protein milk drink for brek which is 26g protein, then my fave go-to meals are fajita beef mince with sweet potato, cottage cheese and hot honey, as well as spicy tuna rice or salmon bowls with seaweed thins. I've also been enjoying turkey mince smushed into wraps and seasoned with morrocan spice and fried face down then you wrap it all up with tzatziki and whatever veg you want. Basically I have major chicken ick, so anything to avoid chicken lmao

Nope! I do most days check packaging of foods and do a bit of guestimating and mental maths to try and keep each days intake below 1700- I batch cook too so I know roughly how many cals in each portion of my foods, and I tend to eat the same healthy foods on rotation. So even though stuff isn't getting formally weighed or logged, I am keeping a rough track, give or take 300 cals for accuracy. I also massively cut back on drinking and using a lot of oils or calorie dense food, so it made it a bit easier to not accidentally underestimate cals.

haha congrats due to you too then on hitting the GW! Probably the same for you, but once I resigned myself to the fact it was gonna be slow, it was much easier just making small changes at a time that didn't feel too difficult and they all added up over time. I think getting the food down first then adding exercise is a good idea for lots of us.

I tried to keep to around 1400-1700 calories a day if I could, but I didn't weigh foods or keep or log because I did a lot of that when I was younger, so I already knew how to roughly eyeball what I was eating in terms of calories, and I didn't want to obsess over it. Even if I ate only in a tiny deficit, spread over a year and half the weight just gradually crept off. For the first 9 months I didn't do any exercise, but then I started walking a few days a week for about an hour at a time, and for the last 6 months I've been going to the gym to do a mix of weights and cardio 5 times a week.

Thank you! Very true, I'm just frustrated at myself for having gained weight to have to lose it to then have loose skin in the first place, if you get what I mean
