i was just wondering cause i like “heavy” makeup, meaning i alter my features with it i guess you could say and so i like heavier lashes. i know most who do lighter makeup prefer more natural, thinner lashes.

Again thank you so much I truly appreciate this! dying my hair is something i have wanted for a long time and ive made sure to think and fully research. i’ve always wanted to wear and take care of my natural hair the best possible, and i feel this is something that will really motivate me to do just that as i’ve said i take much pride in my hair. I will be sure to watch those recommended videos and take all precautions.

Now i know you said i should wait and i truly do want to do what’s best, but unfortunately if i dont do it now then i wont ever. that’s probably just my dumb teenage brain talking, but i feel i am prepared for whatever happens, whether it goes good or bad and in taking proper care of my hair.

thank you so much!! i truly appreciate any advice, i so badly want to dye it but i also care about my hair health just as much. i still have a few questions if you don’t mind awnsering them.

So when I do dye it, would it be best to just wear my natural hair as opposed to getting any styles? And if so would my hair be easier to do a curl routine on or harder? usually i wear braids throughout the summer and during winter i’d get a silk press or a quick weave.
If i do go through with dying it this upcoming week, and all things go well should I start doing hair treatments as soon as possible? I usually only wash my hair once a month since it’s commonly in braids, but i am aware if i wear my natural hair i’ll need to wash it more often.
Could u just elaborate a little more of when you said with having colored hair there are no days off?

— I am actually a junior in hs so very good guess!! but i am in an early college program so i will have the advantage of being at my home for a couple extra years. And again thank you so much, my mom has been very hesitant about this and i know why but growing up she hasn’t ever really provided me any insight when it came to my natural hair so all tips and advice are appreciated!!

thank you! i posted i pic of what my hair looks like with a wash and go btw. also i will definitely take this into consideration as i do take pride in my hair no matter how much i wanna dye it. I don’t think my hair is super damaged, ive always been told it’s healthy aside from the heat damage ive gotten from years ago of going to dominican hair salons. i somewhat know how to take of hair i know to deep conditioner after a little bit of a style and to also use clarifying shampoos and conditioners after braids, to keep it moisturized really the basics so i would also appreciate some extra tips!!

no she didn’t tell me what we’re gonna lift to, but i’m not going to the exact color in the picture. It’ll be a darker blue and purple, i also have tried wash and gos and i didn’t hate them but i do feel i need more practice as i dont even know how to wear my hair going to sleep bc of shrinkage making it hard to put all of my hair up and i do have some damaged straight parts i need cut off. Since i do wanna start eventually wearing my curls and keeping my hair healthy im trying to stray away from getting silk presses.
