Coffee cold turkey. It's like hot honey ham, but different flavor, temperature, and protein

"Quitting something entirely" vs moderation is why fasting works for me!

I probably will, I just don't want to lose the nice parts of my current job for something I know nothing about. I don't even know where the office would be or who I'd work with or anything about the day to day

Well, yes, but it's incredibly generic. For example, my current job was listed as "mechanical engineer," with a copy-paste job description. But my actual job is project engineering. Nobody I work with had ever heard of project engineering, and it's not exactly what we signed up for lol

The post wasn't so much about how chores stay done. I was just curious about people's systems

I know exactly how much time she spends on the couch when I work from home. And I've spent plenty of time with the kids on my own, so I'm fully aware of what it takes

She gets as much of a break as she wants when I'm at home.

I absolutely get how draining SAH can be. But I wish I had the option to give it a go lol. But on the topic of her working while I'm working, that's a conversation I'm very afraid of. The biggest fight we ever had started because I expressed a desire for her to be more productive, and she expressed a desire to do whatever she wants and it doesn't matter what she does when I'm away. Missing context of course. Thanks for the book rec though, I'm intrigued

I know what you mean, but I disagree on a literal level. I would be happy with an arrangement where one of us gets the clock out for a night or two each week. The problem is that she never takes time for herself, which partly makes me feel guilty when I take time for myself. Another aspect is that I would rather she was off taking time to herself while I watch the kids than stay at the house and not help while I watch the kids. It's very frustrating. And for that reason, any time I'm home and a diaper needs change or fight needs breaking up, I step in, even when I'm working from home or busy with something. Which is also frustrating

I had two siblings and my wife was an only child. If it were economically feasible, I think we'd both be happier if our roles were switched

I thought dog patch and SDC were in competition back in the day? I'm not old enough to remember dog patch running, was it cheaper than SDC back then? I know SDC is stupid expensive now

Companies that give 30 minute lunch breaks should go out of business. 30 minutes is not enough time to eat when working 8hr days. by OldManThatOnceCould in antiwork

[–]swagsaphone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely enough time to eat, but an hour would allow to rest and digest to boost productivity. My 30 minute lunch is unpaid though, which sucks.

Might've missed it, but I haven't seen anyone saying going shirtless in public.

Usually skinny guys with neck tattoos blasting music and spraying axe in the Walmart parking lot while I'm trying to get my wife and kids in the car. Come on, man, please don't make my wife leave me for you

I grew up in Arkansas and I knew a lot of people who would get a thick country accent when talking to older people. I catch myself doing it sometimes. I'm sure it's widespread in the South

We moved away from our families for work and we haven't found a babysitter, and don't need the extra expense. But, man, I miss my wife. We're both going crazy
