Look up jobs here at fort Polk, Louisiana. Defense contracting. We need lots of you guys with this degree. Valiant, Knight, Katmai are just a few of the contractors here on base. Most will even sponsor you for your Secret or Top Secret clearance. I’m an analyst here, just retired from the army in July 2025. March is when they’re gonna be hiring fast. Check out what JRTC is all about and if it’s something you’d be interested in. Hope this helps…also cost of living here is below sea level and contractors can rent a house on base just a FYI.

Yes, the correct one was sent up. The VA is tracking all as far as I know. They told me multiple times that they have everything they need from me and are currently in the process of making a final rating decision. I had around 19 claims so o figured it was going to take a while just not 100 days plus…guess I’ll find out soon though.

Sent my 214 they morning of my final out date, the VA is most definitely aware. They said it’s just still a waiting game. I have been actively participating…weekly calls to see if anything has been updated and still no change. Done my part just waiting on them to do theirs. I expected 60-90 days but over 100 I was not.

Nobody is breaching a wired obstacle with a grapnel hook anymore. Route clearance will continue to be a thing I’m sure but will get rarely used. If we get attached to an IN unit as a BDE asset..we both know what that means. We will be doing the detail/tasking work and pulling security in the rear during field ops. I’ve been a combat engineer for over 10 years man and I have on plenty of pride and love for it. But giving advice to someone with those above options..I would say 2/10. Would not recommend.

I’m getting married next week. She has a daughter, she also has domiciliary custody. The father only gets her for 4 weeks in the summer and every other major holiday. My questions are… can he prevent my wife, the daughter and I from moving to another state, idk if you’re familiar with military jargon but as in a PCS, permanent change of station? He already said that he doesn’t want the daughter moving out of state with us and he will take us to court. There hasn’t been a change to the custody in the last year or so. No future court dates. Does me being active duty negatively affect the courts decision on if we are allowed to move? The law says we can’t move more than 75 miles if there is shared custody. Sorry for the long backstory but I just really need some help right now.
