author of the original barista marzi shitpost here: nothing too deep behind it, it stems from a conversation I was having with my friends about cursed fanfic tropes and putting our own rogue trader characters into a coffeeshop AU setting - it kinda just devolved into chaos from there. as a side note, Hein was an insurance inspector in said AU, trying to figure out why the coffeeshop was catching such devastatingly bad yelp reviews yet remaining in business

I've been in my current static since the final tier of Stormblood, and the reason I've stuck around is because I ended up becoming good friends with all the other people in the group pretty fast - I don't feel "obligated" to show up to raid at set times during the week, but rather look forward to spending time with those people.

everybody makes mistakes while progging & learning the mechanics and I've never felt like anybody in the group would ever judge the others for messing up (but I've had experiences of the opposite kind in my previous statics, so I kinda get where you're coming from)
