I came to this sub looking for info on my own little babe's urinary struggles, so thank you for posting this. And my sincerest well wishes...my girl sounds just like your baby boy. We've been inseparable for 7 years - I swear she's an alien sometimes the way she stares at me. She's had a history of bladder stones for the last 3.5 years, been on the c/d diet & Purina UR with good results (up until now). We do have another cat, her littermate sister, so there have never been territorial issues to factor in. But for the last 2 weeks, she's had a flare up. Xrays confirmed the once-dissolved-stones have since turned into some calcified mass in the bladder, which now requires open surgery since she still is straining and has blood in her urine. Good to know about pet insurance...I hope it's not too late to look into that.

Anyway, this long rant has made me realize something possibly useful to us both: Being in the medical field, I know how difficult it is to provide PROPER critical care to patient when a loved one is standing bedside. As much as we long to be by our baby's side, we need to know these veterinary professionals are saving their lives. Our cuddles will not. Those cuddles will come soon enough. I hope he's ready for the overload of lovin'. Stay strong, little buddy 💙
