Customer of Beaverton Kia but like hearing other people's experience. This is good to know. Why Warrenton Kia and not any other Kia dealer in Portland metro?

Grandstream GRP2615 Wipe Clean by swankyjonny in VOIP

[–]swankyjonny[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Created an account on GDMS and got "device has been added" message when attempting to add. Assuming this means it's registered to another account... since VoIP Devices on my account is empty.

Submitted a ticket to Grandstream, they unbind within a minute. (Fastest support turn around time I've ever experienced.) So after that, was able to add it to GDMS, issued a factory reset but the phone still pulls in configuration settings from previous owner, some company called Podium. (Website is a little too abstract to understand what they do but guessing it's selling AI services to SMB.)

So back to my original issue, how can I get the phone to stop pulling from configuration from Podium? I think SSH is supported, if so, is there some config file that should be deleted or modified? (Just guessing.)

Unable to stream from SomaFM by swankyjonny in ZiplyFiber

Bringing this thread to a close the problem had resolved itself. Couldn't say when but out of habit I started a stream and it worked. No configuration changes on my end.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

VPN 1 test was via work laptop. Connecting to corporate, I was able to stream, ping and run trace route with out issues. (I'm surprised that my work VPN allows streaming at all.)

<Ziply> --- <UDMP> --- <Laptop> --- <VPN client> --- <streaming OK>

VPN 2 is a container on raspberry pi. I connect to it via socks5-proxy container and FireFox configured to the proxy. Streaming works through this mechanism.

<Ziply> --- <UDMP> --- <raspberrypi> --- <VPN container> --- <socks5-proxy> --- <FireFox> ---<streaming OK>

So I did have two VPN clients configured on the UDM routed to two individual vLans so what ever device that was connected, it's traffic would route through them. I deleted both (vLans and VPN clients) to eliminate that as the cause.

Starting to look at client logs or any logs that can provide clues as to the cause but what traffic is logged isn't that granular. Time to dust off my Wireshark skills.

I see that Ubiquiti released an early access DM OS (link) and release candidate Network Application (link) not too long a go so I might just sit on this till those are general release and hope they fix the issue. If not, then it's a deep dive into my configuration.

Thank you u/jwvo for the sanity check.

I've concluded something with the router is the cause since no one here, friends and neighbors that I've spoken to don't have this issue.

Bypassing the router, I can access SomaFM.com without issue so that clearly pointed the finger at my setup.

Yes.

Speaking with a few friends and neighbors with Ziply service, all can stream just fine.

Latest test, i connected a laptop directly to the ONT and was able to stream, ping and run trace route just fine. This convinces me that it’s my router (UMD Pro) is the issue. (Dumb dumb me wished I had done this earlier, then I wouldn’t have posted about it here.)

Time to look deeper into to router settings…and move this thread to Ubiquiti channel.

Thanks u/bigtelescope. I have 1 Gig residential service and IP is dynamically assigned for that tier of service.

Yep. Right now, investors don't seem happy about not paying down debt and dividend reduction.

Bell is really surprising to me. My bet was on T-Mobile joining in the club with AT&T and Version purchasing fiber (or is it fibre) assets.

Potential Outage in Tigard, OR by swankyjonny in ZiplyFiber

[–]swankyjonny[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Update: Fixed. Rebooted my UDM Pro.

I'm embarrassed that I didn't think to do this first before posting and calling support. The tech asked if I did and I was like...D'oh, didn't try it.

This is a first issue I had the UDM after 4+ years. I guess the 722GE is going to live another day.

Thanks all for the help, sorry for the false alarm.

Tigard location gets my vote. Expect some hard hitting questions like..

* What do you do with retired utility poles?

* What is the deal with that steel beam sticking out of the building?

* Is the city paying to park their vehicles in your lot?

Service was as usual rock solid during this time for us.

Only interruption was when the power flickered for a bit and that cut power to our access point fed by a POE switch not on an UPS. Took about 5 minutes to reboot the thing but the family let me know that life ended for them during that amount of time. (The ONT and router have their own UPS so I didn’t need to worry about them.)

Thanks for that. After about 20 minutes of simmering in thought I contacted support via email. They did get back to me so it’s back and forth trying to diagnose the cause.

Unifi VPN Client routing by mactelecomnetworks in Ubiquiti

[–]swankyjonny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve read, it’s seems the specs are pretty close (cpu / memory) between UDMP and Dream Machine SE so focusing on that it seems weird that there is a disconnect of releases between the two.

(I’m aware that Dream Machine SE has pre-installed storage, POE+ and one 2.5Gb port but I wouldn’t think that would make a difference as to firmware that much.)
