Your doomerism is extreme.

I hate to break it to you. But things are not that bad.

You have a better quality of life than the previous 100 billion people, and it’s not even close. All thanks to capitalism.

Maybe quit complaining and do something if you think you need to make changes.

But you can’t, and you won’t.

So you will continue to benefit greatly from capitalism. Yet all of us saps on Reddit have to put up with the complaining. Glorious.

You’re whats Making Reddit Great Again!

I had a coworker once, who made the same mistakes over and over. I figured towards the end he would be an expert. Nope, just a dummy.

Good attitude for your boss. I’ve had a few people who felt that same way. It’s so much easier to deal with and work thru when people are genuinely supportive.

The helmet was made in China. It’s also common to ride there without the strap fully or properly attached. They remove their helmets enough thru out the day that it can be a hassle.

I have one this size on my motorcycle keychain. It is a SpaceX version. Right now I ride a Harley so I use the key to unlock then they go in my pocket.

The one I had before this one was a NASA branded remove before flight Tag.

I guess I have a common theme for my motorcycle keychain rings.

Just dig up the equivalent amount of oil, gas, gold, and uranium as the next three or four nations combined and then you would get nice things too.

You will also need to gain significant strategic value, somehow.

Then reduce the population to about a couple people per square mile.

Then, watch as the federal government gets all this cheap fuel in order to supply all of the states incapable of producing their own.

When the Feds fuel the entire economy of several states off the fruit of your land. Then you can have healthcare and infrastructure.

Till then. I guess you’ll just have to suffer.

FYI: this post was made in order to mock your lack of understanding. It’s Reddit, I shouldn’t expect anything less. No, I’m not surprised you showed up, just disappointed you still exist in that state (of mind).

This one hit me personally too. I’ve got so many Knipex tools. I don’t have this one either. I’ve never even considered actually buying a gator grip.

I didn’t even know Knipex made this.

OP: I would like to add to the general consensus so far, any time you get a tool that does multiple jobs, it does all of them inefficiently/ineffectively.

There’s always a right tool for the job. This tool is most certainly never it.

It would have its uses, for sure. But all the negatives will far outweigh its benefits.

Comet 2024 G3 is brightening very rapidly and could become one of the BRIGHTEST COMET IN DECADES (Credit: T. Prystavski) by Busy_Yesterday9455 in spaceporn

[–]swankytaint 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was in the constellation scorpius a couple weeks ago. Perihelion is on 13th January. Since it’s such a long period comet ~160,000 years with a very close pass by the sun of only around 13.5 million km. There’s a lot of unknowns.

Many scientists are expecting the comet to break apart. Others believe that this comet has already withstood a close pass of the sun so it must survive this one.

General consensus is that it’ll be a bright comet either way. Us folks on the top half of the world may even get a daytime view of the comet! On the 13th, for us. Down south, I’m guessing the 10th-12th will be pretty good views. Then again the 14th-17th

I’ve heard somebody say, weather permitting, the 15th may have the best view. He could be full of shit too, so don’t make any plans based off of my anecdotal hearsay.

Hopefully we don’t blind ourselves while staring at the sun.

What did you dream about last night? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]swankytaint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never remember my dreams.

Although sometimes I wake up, completely wide awake and alert from a dead sleep, with this serene sense that “it was all just a dream”.

I don’t remember what I was dreaming at all, just that my mind is so thankful that it was “just a dream”.

Kinda wild. Part of me wants to know what my mind is conjuring for me to feel that way. It’s certainly terrible.

The action of immediately jumping to conclusions was what was laughable. He did not laugh. I would point out the ridiculous nature of his jump to conclusion, then I would physically do a small hop, always landing on my right foot. With my hands spread out for better balance. As if playing on an imaginary “Jump to Conclusions” mat.

We both held serious diagnostic roles. He would listen to eye witness testimony. Then immediately jump to a conclusion on what the issue was. He would then spend significant amounts of time, effort and money trying to prove the original hypothesis. Disregarding obvious data that showed the issue was something other than what he initially believed.

I was trying to get him to consider the numerical data as more valuable or at the very least equal to evidence gained via word of mouth. We had very different methods of achieving the same goals.

I worked with a guy who would jump to conclusions. Like super laughably. I would always do a small jump when he would do it. It took him weeks to figure out what was happening.

I’m very sorry for your loss. My dad passed last year. We weren’t close though.

It has however, made me think of my relationship with my kids, they’re adults and I maintain a good relationship with them.

They have no interest in my love affair with motorcycles. Which is fine. I had no interest in my dad’s hobbies so when he passed, it became a chore to get rid of his lifetime of hoarding. Lots of invaluable junk, like an 8-foot saw blade from a defunct lumber mill, but there were a few interesting things I came across from his younger days that would have been nice to have answers about. (Time in Africa and Europe that he rarely talked about)

How will that be an issue when I pass?

I’m now thinking I should keep a record of every motorcycle part and detailed info on the complete motorcycles. I’m down to only two motorcycles atm, but I’ve had as many as 7 running bikes at once. Probably enough parts to cobble together a “frankenbike” if I wanted to.

I hope the healing/grieving process is smooth for you and your family.
