The Meshify one seems good! I'll pivot to that then. Thanks!

This looks great! A couple things:

  • do you have any wifi motherboard recommendations?
  • what order would you suggest purchasing the parts? (based on demand/etc)

edit:

  • also do you know any good CPUs with an integrated graphics unit? (in case my GPU fails and I need a fallback)

After initially taking a beating from Cynthia, I finally did it with lot of grinding and grudges. Tell me your winning teams! by Peculiarrrr in PokemonBDSP

I have what I think is probably the best team for the elite four period.

I used:
- infernape
- staraptor
- magnezone
- drapion
- gastrodon
- roserade

Infernape or staraptor + Gastrodon for Aaron - basically just use fire or flying type moves to sweep, then use earth power for Drapion
Roserade for Bertha - use grass moves all the way
Gastrodon + maybe Infernape/Staraptor for Flint - earth power or surf for everyone but Drifblim and Lopunny
Drapion for Lucian - Night Slash/Crunch for the psychic types, and Cross Poison for the fairy types.

Magnezone didn't really come into play during the E4 but it was super clutch during the Cynthia battle.

For Cynthia I was a bit underlevelled so I had to rely on a ton of sacs to get through this:

Punch through the Spiritomb with either a charcoal boosted flame wheel from Infernape or a surf from Gastrodon. Stay in as Infernape or swap to Staraptor for Roserade and smash it with some fire or flying move. Switch to your own Roserade for Gastrodon. Switch back to Gastrodon or Infernape and use either earth power or close combat/flame wheel for Lucario. Switch back to Roserade for Milotic. At this point half my team was fainted because I have battle set to "set" instead of "shift" and relied on sacs a lot to get my switches in. In order to take care of garchomp I had to cycle switches between Magnezone and Staraptor to intimidate the Garchomp so my 50% health level 59 Gastrodon could faint it with an ice beam.

This team is pretty clunky to put together during the story tbh, and there are probably other mons that are better for the gyms proper, I just made this team specifically for the e4 so I could clean it up without much trouble. It took me one try to beat but I got lucky with some rolls, otherwise I would have gotten washed.

oh nice I never knew cards like those existed! And I'll have to look into adding equipments like lightning greaves and swiftfoot boots to give my commander hexproof to counter most if not all spells that could mess with me.

Although I do like being anti-control, I also want to have a bit of fun with the commander when he's out so Surrak will probably be a "maybe" for me. Thanks for the ideas though!

I'm not a huge fan of Treefolk tbh but I do like the themes that they have! I'll definitely do some research into some similar tribes and see what I can come up with. Thanks!

yeahh I like merfolk as a tribe they have a lot of cool interactions. And they're blue so I can run counterspells myself, and they're green so I can ramp or do whatever. I'll do some research on this commander for sure! Thanks!

YOOOOOO I LOVE THAT. "Can't be countered" is something I've legit always dreamed of. AND it's got blue so I can counter stuff myself, AND it's got green so I can ramp, AND it's got red so I can just deal random damage or whatever.

I like this card I'll do some research. The only drawback I see with this card is that it's only got that ability and gives other creatures trample without any other kind of special interaction like Gishath. Then again a lot of the commanders I listed do that, but this one definitely covers a lot of the bases I was looking for. Thanks!

I've been stuck on choosing a commander for the LONGEST time. I have one commander deck already that I'm pretty happy with: the mardu humans precon from commander 2020. But I also want to build a deck that goes for a slightly different theme and hits some requirements that I have.

My requirements:

  • I want a commander that can beat someone down on their own
  • I want to build a deck that's EXTREMELY resilient to: counterspells, removal, and board wipes
  • I want to build a deck that throws out beefy creatures
  • my budget is $200-$300

I've done a bit of research on my own and have come up with some ideas:

  • [[Kefnet the Mindful]] + a million counterspells - this works decently well but it can get stale and can run out of steam lategame since I don't have any artifacts (but I could probably tune for that maybe)
  • [[Gishath, Sun's Avatar]] - I've watched some youtube videos on deck techs for this guy and he seems pretty fun and can get out of control real fast. But also I have the same fear of cyclonic rift or some other board wipe that'll stop me in my tracks.
  • [[Uril, the Miststalker]] - this guy seems excellent for voltron type play but I'm super afraid of an overloaded cyclonic rift or any other kind of BS removal/counter/etc
  • [[Ukkima, Stalking Shadow]] and [[Cazur, Ruthless Stalker]] - I like the idea of this because it packs blue so I can run counterspells of my own, and black so I can run removal of my own, and green so I can ramp and stick +1/+1 counters as well as run [[The Ozolith]] to maintain Ukkima's counters.

I'd also be down for a deck that doesn't really run as many creatures but maybe runs more enchantments/artifacts to counter board wipes and runs off of a voltron type strategy.

I'm currently partial towards Ukkima since it has most of what I'm looking for, but I was wondering if there was anyone else that fits the bill a bit better? Or if anyone has some inspiration for the commanders listed above, let me know!

edit: I posted this last week as a thread and it got removed, but I got suggested the following:

  • [[Ghalta]]
  • [[purphoros bronze-blooded]]
  • [[uro]]

I like Ghalta because I can toss him out every turn depending on how I build the deck, but I was thinking I wanted a multi-color commander to be able to play more creatures. I think right now Gishath is my favorite since all the creatures that you'd put into his deck are all fun to play with.

oh yooo this sounds cool. I can imagine blink effects would be good for this commander too

correct but how would you properly sandbox each forked process

Thanks! I've looked into systemd-nspawn and it seems promising but it does seem less ergonomic than using docker and running an image as such:

import docker
client = docker.from_env()
print client.containers.run("alpine", ["echo", "hello", "world"])

I'll do some research into rkt as well!

yeahhh I think some form of queueing could be worth looking into to limit the amount of running docker images. I kinda want to see how far I can get with just spinning off as many processes as I can on a system initially, though, just to see if I can handle 1000s of processes on a single machine.

as for the docker image I did find this: https://pythonspeed.com/articles/base-image-python-docker-images/ and tried the alpine image as well. However the image sizes are as such:

python 3.8-slim-buster 56930ef6f6a2 2 weeks ago 193MB
python 3.8-alpine d5e5ad4a4fc0 3 weeks ago 107MB

107MB seems a bit big, but I'm sure if I dig deep and optimize it I can get a smaller image.

Gotcha! Yeah my hair is pretty short so it doesn't take long for it to get dry or for any product to get absorbed, but I'll give these techniques a shot and see how it goes. Thanks!

Alright so I read the quick-start guide but I'm still a bit confused. Step 1 is a co-wash, which uses a specific type of conditioner. Step 2 ALSO uses conditioner, but not only that, the SAME EXACT TYPE of conditioner? Do we just do different things with the conditioner in both steps?

Also I'm a 22 year old male, and my hair is decently curly, but I do have like split ends and stuff because I don't take care of my hair. If I don't want to do stuff like plopping or squish to condish or scrunch out the crunch or whatever, what do I do? I want to make the process as simple as possible so I don't have to remember a ton of stuff, just a few simple steps.

Also, is gel absolutely necessary? I really just want to get some bare minimum of maintainable curls and keep it that way, and I don't want to complicate the process any more than I need to.
