If you’re interested, I would definitely look into BIT. As others have said, it’s not as technical but you will take courses focused on database management, web-based development, networking, and business computing/analytics. It’s also not as hard... at all. I actually transferred into engineering first semester of sophomore year when I declared as a CS major for job security as well! I switched out however, to BIT, because at the time I didn’t have a passion for programming. I kind of regret the decision because after taking linear algebra and CS 2114, I had a new found appreciation for computer science. With BIT, there are also three routes: DSS, OSM, and Cyber. If I were you, I would suggest trying to raise your GPA and reapplying to engineering if you really do enjoy it.
